For Sale: 1969 Pontiac GTO in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Documented real GTO; has original invoice and build sheet. Born a 4-speed with a nice list of options! This car feels right, drives very nice.

EXTERIOR: Rare, very sharp looking Midnight Green. I bought this from a body shop owner/collector. He didn't restore the car, but he wouldn't own a car if the body wasn't clean. This one is arrow straight, no rust or damage. It fits really nice, especially the rubber bumper. The metallic paint is laid out evenly and polished to a smooth glossy finish. There are no cracks in the front bumper that I noticed. Show quality rear bumper, taillights were replaced. New windshield. Rally ll wheels look original, new caps and trim rings. Power top is black in excellent condition. Very desirable optional hideaway headlights work.

INTERIOR: Clean dash area. Dash pad not split, instrument panel not cracked or cut. It has optional rally gauges and tachometer. Factory Am-Fm radio, deluxe wheel on a tilt column and a walnut shift knob. Kick panels, console, pillars, visors are really nice. Bucket seats have new cushions, seats are reupholstered, door panels are new. Good carpet, reproduction floor mats. Complete set of original seat belts.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Vin # matching 400. Stock intake, carb, valve covers and air cleaner. Ram Air exhaust manifolds. Complete with heat riser tube, washer bottle, hood insulation etc. It features power steering and brakes. Overall tidy and proper.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Solid metal with a tidy coat of spatter paint. Under the trunk lid is painted nicely. Rally ll wheel spare, restored jack assembly. Mat, weatherstrip and well liner look new.

UNDERSIDE: New KYB gas shocks in front, air shocks in back. New reproduction exhaust system with correct tips. Disc brakes in front, e-brake assembly is hooked up. Bottom of the motor is clean. It has a correct M21 4-speed trans. 3.55 gears in the rear end. The floors, lower quarters and rockers look to be clean original metal.

I like this car. It runs great, sounds great, drives great. I especially like the color, it's much better than the more common Verdoro Green. This GTO is a car to get in and enjoy, nice enough to go to any show. All the while it's a documented investment grade car!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.
