Vehicle Description
This 1968 Chevrolet Nova is exactly what makes you love these
Chevys. It has an extra-clean but somewhat unassuming look on the
outside. However, underneath the surface lurks a well-built 427 big
block, four-on-the-floor, and other upgrades that make this a truly
fun sleeper street machine.
Chevy seemed to give this generation the kind of beefy style that
made sure the compact designation was only about being in a lighter
class than some of their other cars. After all, the well-creased
bodylines look sizable and intimidating. But that's not necessarily
your first impression here. The clean driver-quality white paint
just looks like what you'd want on an everyday cruising classic.
It's not looking to have a Super Sport attitude with a blackout
grille, hood trim, or badging. Instead, there's just a clean look
with bright chrome bumpers and a straight bright grille. But those
who know what to look for also can see you mean business. The
Corvette-style Rally wheels get the right attention. And the way it
sits lower in the front and has extra wide rear tires give this the
stance of pure aggression.
The black interior is clean and attractive. You may add details
like a radio, but where it matters most has a feeling of
completeness - everywhere from the dome light that greets you when
the door opens to the tilt steering column. Just like the exterior,
there's just the right amount of added distinction to showcase what
makes this different from a full sleeper. There's a cool minty
green that breaks up the darkness of the black inside. It draws
your attention to driver-oriented upgrades like the well-contoured
front bucket seats and the Hurst floor shifter.
Under the hood is something special. The 427 cubic-inch big block
was a magic displacement at Chevy. It delivered some of the best
muscle cars of its era, and so we're always especially happy to see
it in a lighter Nova. And they wanted to make sure you knew it was
something special (see how the minty green on the block coordinates
with the interior accents?) And of course, there's a ton of
substance behind the style. The big block is enhanced with a Carter
Competition Series four-barrel carburetor, a Weiand intake, and
long tube headers feeding into an H-pipe dual exhaust. You'll even
spot good supporting components, like an MSD distributor and a
large aluminum radiator. You take firm control of this with the
four-speed manual transmission. And speaking of firm control, you
also have subframe connectors and traction bars. And with power
steering, power brakes, front discs, and wide BF Goodrich T/As,
this is a muscle car that's also easy to cruise.
This is the Nova made to be an awesome muscle car cruiser with the
right sleeper style. It's what you really want in a powerful
classic, and so you know you can't miss this deal. Call
