Vehicle Description
The 1978 Jeep CJ5 is a true go-anywhere 4x4. But as you see the
impressive stereo system and see that the suspension life also
means polished 20-inch wheels, then you start to see this one was
also customized to conquer the urban jungle.
This CJ uses chrome to show off its style and substance. Up front
you not only have the highly recognizable polished grille but also
the upgraded polished bumper with brush guard and spotlights to put
a bright face forward. The polished presentation continues along
the sides where accessories like polished mirror mounts join
functional upgrades like the side exhaust and side steps. And while
those 20-inch wheels look like pure bling, they are actually from
the adventure masters at Dick Cepek. The rear shows off more useful
polished pieces, like the tow hitch, tail lights, and full-size
spare. And even with all the modern style, this makes sure to give
you the classic Reengage flared fenders. Plus, the Renegade decal
package goes well with the black paint. And speaking of the finish,
it has a nice gloss to go well with the polished pieces, but we're
happy to see it never gets too fancy to make you hesitate using
this as a real off-road Jeep. And that's the heart of the full
appeal here. You have a cool upgraded machine that never loses the
heart of an adventure-ready 4x4.
The interior gives you the Jeep basics you want, like high-back
front bucket seats, a roll bar with shoulder seatbelts mounts, and
durable yet comfortable vinyl upholstery. There are even some
useful extras like a bikini top, rugged rubber floor mats, a Grant
steering wheel, and a CB radio. But what's really going to catch
your eye (and everyone else's ears) is the full custom stereo
system. It starts with an AM/FM/CD head unit with USB and
Bluetooth. And the cup holder center console, rear side, and more
are custom molded pieces that carry plenty of speakers. And with
everything from amplifiers to integrated TV screens (some may need
servicing,) this custom CJ doesn't arrive at parties, because it is
the party!
Under the hood is the 258 cubic-inch inline-six motor. It's a
long-established powerplant for Jeep that has a robust nature, and
so you have a hardy powerplant that's also easy to tinker with for
maintenance and power. There's a nice rumble from the side pipes
any time you feel like letting these sing instead of the stereo,
and the three-speed manual transmission puts you in control of it
all. When the pavement ends, the two-speed 4x4 transfer case and
Super Swamper tires keep you moving. Plus, power steering and front
disc brakes are welcomed no matter if you're on the tail or on your
way to a cruise-in.
This is a unique CJ with a value price and the 4x4 fundamentals in
place. So it makes for a cool way to enjoy some time on or
off-road. Call today!!!
