4-speed manual is rarely seen in a 1981 Camaro, which makes this a
real treat! A mildly built 400 CID V8 engine rumbles through
Dynatech full-length headers and into dual exhaust. Flip a switch
to open up the exhaust cutouts and really be heard! A smooth
shifting 4-speed manual keeps you in control of that big V8 while
power steering and power front disc brakes make this Camaro easy to
tame.
The exterior was painted in GM Victory Red just 6 months ago and
looks fantastic with the functional cowl hood and rear spoiler! The
front grills and headlight buckets are painted in a gloss black
that really makes the front end pop. American Racing Torq Thrust
wheels are always a favorite and look great on this Chevy.
Inside you will find freshly reupholstered bucket seats in black
vinyl with a center console, AM/FM/CD/Aux/USB radio, a tachometer
mounted on the column, and extra gauges by the console to keep an
eye on that healthy V8.
Under the hood you will see Holley valve covers adorning the 400
engine, along with an Air Gap intake, Proform 4-barrel carburetor,
HEI distributor, and those long tube headers. A flex fan keeps it
all cool and the functional cowl hood allows this engine to breathe
fresh air. This is an original A/C car and all components are in
place. The seller says it needs to be converted to R-134 to
function properly according to his mechanic.
Only 10,780 of the 126,139 total Camaros built in 1981 received a
4-speed manual transmission, making them fairly tough to find.
These 4-speed cars go quick, especially at this price point and
with this much new work performed! This Camaro has the looks and
sound to break necks as you drive by or pull into the local car
show. Don't sleep on it, or it will be gone!
