Vehicle Description
This 1971 Chevrolet El Camino SS 396 Tribute has striking paint, an
A/C interior, and plenty of big block power under the hood. It's a
package made for those who want a sharp-looking muscle car/truck
that's made for driving. And everywhere you arrive, this one has an
interesting story to tell.
You know such a vibrant shade of green was not something that came
directly from Chevrolet. The neon-like lime was a custom
application for a Hidden Valley Ranch TV commercial. If that wasn't
already interesting enough, we're even told this was once owned by
Blackberry Smoke's Brit Turner! So this El Camino has distinction
even before you notice the Super Sport upgrades like the cowl hood,
hood pins, wide exhaust tips, SS badging, and white racing stripes
on the hood. Plus, we love the look of the mean blackout grille and
premium black vinyl top both tastefully contrasting the bright
green. This is a good-looking classic complete with chrome bumpers
and Rally wheels. But remember, the distinctive finish was done for
TV and not car shows. So the level of scrutiny is different. It's
also what helps make this big block classic such a carefree
driver.
Another part of a good driver is an inviting interior. It includes
newer carpeting, a smooth dash pad, and a fresher seat with comfy
cloth inserts. This was built to be comfortable with an AM/FM/CD
stereo and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning. And because this
wants to be a true driver's classic, there are nice added details,
like the Chevy three-spoke sports steering wheel and cleanly
installed auxiliary readouts under the dash.
It's great to see the 396/402 cubic-inch big block filling the
engine bay. And it has a nice style with the polished Moroso valve
covers and bold orange block radiating within the dark inner walls.
This V8 has the displacement for plenty of power, and it only gets
better with upgrades like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor,
Edelbrock Performer 2.0 intake, and headers feeding the dual
exhaust and Thrush mufflers. More than just big power you can see
there has been an investment in the fundamentals with details like
the compressor, brackets, belts, and hoses looking
newer/maintained. It makes for a strong total package, and that
makes for a great cruiser. So do easy driving features like
steering, power brakes, and a three-speed automatic
transmission.
This El Camino has a distinct style and a story to tell. It also
happens to be a big block cruiser with A/C. So you really know this
is the kind of classic that's going to be a ton of fun. Call
