The builder purchased the car brand new, and immediately began disassembly and a complete custom rebuild using OEM Ford and Shelby components. A fuel injected 4.6L V8 engine with COMP Stage III cams freely breathes through a JLT cold air intake and a 3-inch dual exhaust system. Gear changes for the 5-speed manual transmission are selected with a classic-look Hurst shifter. A highlight of this build is the full .083 chromemoly roll cage to stiffen the entire structure of the car for better performance. A bold PPG Pearl Orange monochromatic paint scheme covers the body, engine compartment, the roll cage, as well as the functional fiberglass Shelby Super Snake hood. Subtle custom work includes smoothed third brake light and gas cap on a GT500 valance panel with tinted taillights and metal housings. The antenna was also welded and smoothed. Beautiful air brush work on the valve covers emulates the heritage Powered by Ford logos. Chassis Saver was applied to the undercarriage. GT500 components comprise the front fascia including the splitter An AFCO Racing aluminum radiator also dresses the engine room while keeping the motor cool. Other GT500 components sourced from either Ford or Shelby include the seats, dash, steering wheel and airbag, and shifter boot. The factory optional Shaker 1000 audio system provides sound almost as powerful as the exhaust. You can also enjoy all the comforts of factory air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, and a tilt steering column. To provide the whoa to complement the go are 4-wheel power disc brakes with ABS. There are Brembo 6-piston calipers in front with drilled and slotted EradiSpeed rotors including +2 rear rotors. Deep gray painted SVT GT500 aluminum wheels are wrapped in staggered P255/45ZR18 and P265/40ZR18 Goodyear F1 Supercar ultra-performance tires, all kept in check with a BMR suspension.
