GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1987 Porsche 944 with a
clean CarFax for your
consideration. This example is powered by a 2.5L inline-4 motor
which routes power to the rear
wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. This example has a
thick binder of service
records that dates back to 2001. Within the last four years the
fuel pump, fuel pump relay, crank
position sensor, rear shocks, clutch, and brakes have been
replaced. In addition to the
impressive amount of care this example has received, it also has an
aftermarket exhaust that
puts out an exquisite note. Along with a new clutch installed
within the last 15 miles.
Sporting Alpinweiss (Alpine White) paint on the exterior and a
black interior, this is a timeless
spec. While it does show some signs of wear such as a small crack
on the bottom left of the
windshield, the overall appearance of this example is good. An
interesting fact about the 1987
model year of the 944 is that the offset of the wheels had to be
increased slightly to make room
for standard ABS. Inside the vehicle is in good condition and has
been left stock with the
exception of a Sony radio installed in the dash.
The 944, introduced in 1982, filled a void to provide a balanced,
performance coupe in a price
range geared for the many instead of the few. Doing so, Porsche
developed its most balanced
car to date with a near 50/50 weight distribution, making it a
favorite among driving enthusiasts.
