1961 Pontiac Bonneville
In 1961 the Pontiac Bonneville set the luxury standard in the
American automotive industry. Beautifully restored National Show
Winner is as rare as they come.
The 1961 Bonneville ignited the car-buyers sending it to the top of
the line for the Pontiac stable. The 1961 was a new generation
featured a cleaner design with an up kick behind the doors and
continued to the end of the rear quarter panels. The public loved
the new beautiful long lines. The grille featured a dual-headlamps
placed horizontally, and a pinned-out center area sported the red
Pontiac badge. The body had an art deco bubble top as their coupe
or "Catalina Sports Coupe." The styling lines featured a post less
side helped make the Bonneville the most exclusive car offered by
Pontiac.
1961 Bonneville is a National Car Show Winner. Fully restored to
the highest standards. Every feature has been restored and does
work properly. Inside, Pontiac installed a bench at the front and
one in the rear. The rear bench has a fold down arm rest and chrome
inset speaker grille. The leather upholstery is completed by the
chrome trim from the instrument panel and the Pontiac shield on the
door panels. The three-tone interior of Coronado red, dawnfire
mist, and cherrywood bronze is in exquisite condition. As Pontiac
stated, "Excitingly new genuine leather unequalled for traditional
comfort and luxury of deep-dyed and hand-buffed." Interior
accessory features are Circ-L-Aire heater and defroster, Super DE
Luxe radio, dual speed electric wipers, Separa-phonic rear-seat
speaker system, visor vanity mirror, remote control drivers side
mirror, electric windshield washer, instrument panel pad.
"Wonder-Touch" power steering unit made for smooth operation,
longer life and trouble-free service. Plus, "Wonder-Touch" power
brakes...gives positive braking and car control with a light touch
of the toe.
Trophy 389 V-8 has just under 100 miles since rebuild. Just a few
upgrades; Fitech Fuel Injection, MSD blaster coil, Taylor Pro 8mm
plug wires, and 12-volt chrome alternator. The Bonneville has new
A/C by Vintage Air/Sanden. Hydra-Matic 315 transmission is an
aluminum case and one-piece integral flywheel housing features a
4-speed forward and reverse.
The Coronado red paint is in immaculate condition. The True Spoke
wire wheels sporting tri-spinner rim hubs feature Pontiac logo are
wrapped in 2" white wall tires. Note the original steel wheels and
tri-spinner "Pontiac Motor Division" hub caps are included. Also
included an original 1961 dealer color and fabric book ( a $900.00
value), 1961 owner's book, Pontiac accessories brochure,
confidential comparison kit, specification manual, wiring diagram,
