For Sale: 1970 Chevrolet Camaro in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

We've sold some amazing Camaro pro-tourers over the past few years. And this rotisserie restored F2 is the latest in a long line of metal that seems to come in, spend one week being universally admired, and disappear to a new home. By definition, pro-tourers and resto-mods are virtually irresistible because they combine increased performance with proven style. And who doesn't love cruising a classic that mixes the best attributes of Motor City muscle with the purpose-built speed that defines American car culture? An accomplished custom that delivers on every level, this sweet Camaro is the kind of car you simply CAN'T ignore. It cruises like a champ, charges like a bull, and oozes the style and class that makes second generation F-Bodies the stuff of legend. Looking for an impressive muscle car that'll fare well on the road AND at the show? Check out this exceptional Chevy!

METALLIC SIMPLICITY

The beneficiary of a nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration that emphasized performance and drivability, this slick Camaro might be the ultimate combination of timeless form and time-tested function. A series of solid body panels, professionally massaged by our friends at Mooresville, North Carolina's Man Made Legends, displays great fit and excellent finish. Silky Infiniti Silver two-stage seals dynamic flake in a glossy, wet-look shine. And the result is one very well done pavement scorcher that'll drop jaws at whatever event it rocks!

At the front of the car's magnetic pigment, a shaved and customized valance hangs bright Rally Sport bumperettes between a stainless-trimmed grille, traditional parking lamps and modern HID headlights. A sculpted D80 spoiler crawls toward a crisp profile that's shaved of everything but factory mirrors, factory markers and factory door handles. A smoked greenhouse bends Satin Black trim between a factory hood, armless Detroit Speed Selecta-Speed wipers and a correct, one-piece deck spoiler. And at the back of the car, a Satin Black valance hangs traditional Rally Sport taillights between a polished trunk lock and a polished bumper.

POWER FOR THE AGES

Tilt this Camaro's 'flat hood', as the loyalists call it, and you'll find 6.2 liters of divine GM small block that's officially known as the LS376/525. Purchased directly from Chevrolet Performance, that trusty mill twists respectable 10.7 to 1 compression into 525 horsepower and 486 lb./ft. of torque. A custom Cold Air Intake, cleverly integrated just below the car's left bumper, slinks breeze into a painted tube that fronts a proven GM throttle body. Clean stainless fuel rails trace a lightweight GM intake. Air meets spark in rectangular-port L92-style heads, which ride under reliable GM coils, short GM wires and a billet oil cap. A nodular crank, powdered connecting rods and hypereutectic pistons compress that volatile union. A hydraulic ASA cam utilizes high-rate valve springs to maximize intake efficiency. Speaking of breathing, that smooth valvetrain funnels spent gases through stainless Hooker Blackheart tubes. There's a massive Griffin radiator that's slid in front of dual SPAL puller fans. Lucid serpentine components spin an aluminum water pump between a modern alternator and a modern AC compressor. Everything communicates well thanks to tuning by Mooresville, North Carolina's PCM of NC. And, as you likely deduced from our high-resolution photos, the Cast Aluminum mill rolls in a clean, Satin Black frame that's finished with niceties like billet Fesler brace bars and a mesh-lined radiator support.

PURE PERFORMANCE

Pose this panther on a lift and you'll find solid, Satin Black floors that provide a stellar backdrop for a roster of proven components. A tough hydraulic clutch kicks a tough Tremec TKO600 5-speed, which twists power to a proven Moser 9-inch that's built with a Truetrac differential and fun, 3.70 gears. That pumpkin pushes a sturdy Detroit Speed QUADRALink rear-clip that, naturally, pairs tubular arms with adjustable coil-overs and a tailored sway bar. Opposite that clip, a Detroit Speed hydroformed subframe pairs more tubular arms and more adjustable coil-overs with power rack-and-pinion steering. Stops are provided by power assisted Baer calipers, which clamp 20 pistons around two 13-inch drilled and slotted rotors and two 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors. Custom exhaust funnels spent gases through stainless pipes, an X-shaped crossover and rowdy dual-chamber mufflers. A massive Detroit Speed Super Tank supplies plenty of 'go juice'. At the corners, $4,100 worth of Forgeline GA3s twist 275/35ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force Rivals in front of 335/30ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force Rivals. And first class detailing includes Detroit Speed mini tubs, subframe connectors and a QuickTime scattershield.

STYLE IN SPADES

Between the doors, you'll find a nicely customized cockpit that was perfected by the pros at Charlotte, North Carolina's The Custom Stitching Co. Front and center, thick Recaro buckets wrap racing-style lap belts around stealthy leather hides. Classic Instruments Moal Bomber telemetry joins pushbutton ignition between discreet Vintage Air climate control and Bluetooth-capable Kenwood audio that bumps amplified speakers. Plush carpet frames metal-trimmed foot pedals in front of a billet shifter. Factory side panels front smooth power windows, cool Fesler lock knobs and trick Fesler jamb vents. Custom rear buckets hide a custom-upholstered trunk. And the driver spins a sporty Driven Circuit wheel around a tilting column.

Storming the market almost 60 years ago, America's favorite Chevrolet remains some of the hottest performance on the planet. This second-gen pro-tourer is a world-class custom that features a potent drivetrain, a modern suspension and many well-executed details that make it a choice combination of show and go. There really isn't a better hobby on earth than owning a classic car, and driving this striking coupe is the perfect way to celebrate that hobby!
