Crest in Headrest. When hearing Porsche 911, almost instantly the
Turbo comes to mind. Since 1974 the Porsche 911 Turbo has been
considered as the spearhead of Zuffenhausens finest sports cars.
The Turbo has always been the perfect blend of super car
performance with all the everyday usability of the Porsche 911. The
997.1 Turbo Coupe was offered between June 2006 until the end of
2008. Many Porsche experts believe the 997 is the greatest
generation of the 911 ever (2005-2012). A future collectible
Porsche you can buy today but you do not have to worry about paying
the collectible status penalty (see any air-cooled 911 price
today): that would be the 2007-2009 Porsche Turbo. These are the
early year Turbos and came with famed Mezger engine. The Mezger
engine was used in Turbo versions of the 996 and first generation
of 997, so if you want a guaranteed way of ensuring your 996 or 997
has none of the issues that afflict the other 911s, buying a Turbo
provides it.Walter Rohrl, a famous German rally and racing driver,
once said, Everything that isnt all wheel drive, is a compromise.
The 997 Turbo was only offered in AWD. The wide body with the air
vents gives the Turbo a more muscular look than its Carrera
siblings, but the Turbo remains subtle and discreet. It is one of
the worlds most genteel sports cars on the open road, with few
peers in performance or in endurance. This car has the optional
Sport Chrono Package which allows 10-second bursts up to 505
pound-feet torque (up from normal 460) via an overboost function.
2008 Turbo Coupes are rarer than Cabrios. We have a very fresh
professional appraisal at $75,500. Hagerty Valuation: #2 Excellent
$100,000, #3 Good $83,000. We offer this iconic coupe at $79,900.
