Vehicle Description
Here is a really stunning looking Rolls-Royce Silver Spur III
finished in all over white with beautifully contrasting Magnolia
Connolly leather hides accented by rich tan piping and trims. The
twin fine lines to the waist-rails are hand-painted in tan to match
the interior. This is what is known as a 50,000 series SZ so it has
many upgrades over the earlier cars. The Silver Spirit III and
Silver Spur III were introduced in late 1993, featuring engine
improvements and some cosmetic updates. A new design of intake
manifold and cylinder heads increased power output. The parameters
of the semi-active suspension system were improved, noticeably
impacting ride quality. Dual airbags were introduced inside, along
with independent adjustment of the rear seats. Total production of
the Silver Spur III was only 465 cars over the model's 2 year span.
It was the smallest production run of the entire SZ Silver Spur
series commencing in 1981 and concluding in 2000 from the initial
series Silver Spur, then the Silver Spur II, the Silver Spur III
and the final series Silver Spur (informally referred to as the
Silver Spur IV) This example has travelled a modest 75,000 miles
and yet looks like she has travelled half that distance. She is
very clean and crisp. Originally from Florida then mostly Kansas
after that so she is scale and rust free. She features the final
series Silver Spur 16" wheels which are a wonderful, and very
expensive addition. These are a factory and genuine Rolls-Royce
alloy wheel. The body of the car is very straight and the paint in
excellent condition. It appears to be mostly original and is
consistent and very deep in lustre and shine. There are hardly any
notable chips and marks other than very minor ones here and there
but these are few and only show if one looks hard. Otherwise it is
very shiny without any fading, dents or dings. Rubbers, mouldings,
badges and external fittings are all in excellent condition. The
interior of this car is stunning. The Connolly leather shows
beautifully and is completely original. It remains very soft and
supple without any signs of the most ordinary wear. The delicious
Magnolia Connolly leather highlighted by the richer tan piping and
tan dash top-roll is truly exquisite. The wood throughout is
excellent including the rear seat passenger picnic table. The only
exception being the top section of the front passenger door which
shows some hairline cracks. These hairlines are not present in the
beautiful burl walnut inlay fascia but just the top rail. This is
not a difficult repair for us, so let us know if you wish us to
refinish this prior to delivery (Park-Ward Motors is America's
leading Rolls-Royce wood refinisher). And, of course, the 50,000
series cars have the additional beautiful teak in-lay. The way it
outlines all the wood sections, especially on the main dash
incorporating the centre top-console is nothing short of delightful
and done in such a way that is truly in tune with the best of
wood-working craftsmanship. Carpets, seats, dash, front top-roll,
rear parcel shelf and fixtures are truly excellent and I best
encourage you to look at all the photos to fully appreciate how
nicely the interior presents. The mouton overlays are in good
condition, albeit showing a bit of sun-fade as they often do. As
part of Park-Ward's Predelivery Commissioning program, which we do
to all our cars, all mechanicals are gone through and whatever work
required, is attended to. This includes the complex hydraulic
system where we make sure all maintenance is up to date and all
major & minor services completed. Electricals and features &
functions are inspected and serviced as required to ensure
everything is operating as it should; windows, seats, mirrors, A/C,
heater, lights, wipers, etc. Right down to every light bulb in the
dash. This process makes the car a true, "take the keys and drive"
example with no additional budget needed to attend to any nuances
or gremlins.
