The Mach I is available only in the Sportroof, the VIN decodes on this Mustang to a true Mach I equipped with the 351 Cobra Jet V8. This is an attractive car painted in bright red with black trim. The paint has been well applied and polished to a nice luster. Bumper chrome and related stainless trim is well maintained and likewise presents with a nice shine. The correct Mach I decals are present and properly applied. Front chin spoiler and rear deck spoiler along with the rear window louvers add a level of 70's machismo that still presents as current and stylish today. The factory Ford AM/FM stereo is still present in the dash along with a factory clock in the console as well. Gear selection of the 4-speed is left to a Hurst shifter. The engine bay presents well. Clean and tidy, the 351cid/246hp Cobra Jet 4bbl V8 backed by a factory 4-speed is the centerpoint of the engine bay. This car was originally equipped with air conditioning. However, the under-hood compressor and related A/C equipment was deleted. Options include power front disc brakes with rear drum brakes and power steering. A new gas tank has been installed, along with fresh dual exhaust that flows through chamber style mufflers that dump just in front of the rear differential. This Mach I rolls on a set of shiny Magnum 500 chrome wheels. The styling of the 1973 Ford Mustang Mach I is timeless and looks as sharp today as it did when first revealed at Ford dealers in 1973.
