Vehicle Description
This 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 has bold paint, a loaded A/C
interior, and a performance-bred 32-valve 5.0-liter Coyote V8 that
still has a home in brand-new Mustangs. So this is your chance at a
modern pony car legend, and as you dig deeper, you'll also notice
some upgrades that let this one gallop with more authority.
Ford built one just for the enthusiasts in 2012. They resurrected
the Ford Mustang Boss 302 name for a special edition that is worthy
of the legend. The paint you can't take your eyes off of is called
Competition Orange. There's an attractive gloss and shine, but the
odometer should reflect the full mileage, and so this car has been
driven and enjoyed. But that's likely your plan, too. After all,
when you get a chance to be the Boss on the streets, you'll take
every advantage. And you already know the affordable price makes
this instantly attractive. And we love how this new generation Boss
continues the stripe package on the hood and sides that are
inspired by Larry Shinoda's original design. So it's worth the
price of admission all on its own. The stripes join a full blackout
package on the front air dam, grille, spoiler, rear panel, and
tinted windows. And we especially like the look of the black roof
and Ford Racing 19-inch black alloys. It really is a full
aggressive package, right down to the power bulge of the GT
hood.
The interior reminds you this is a true driver's machine. You get
Boss 302 embroidered seatbacks, a racer-style synthetic suede
steering wheel, and machine-turned aluminum trim on the dash. But
while this is a competition-inspired machine, it's also a
feature-filled coupe. It includes air conditioning, power windows,
power locks, cruise control, and keyless entry. The radio is an
AM/FM/CD/XM stereo with a modern hookup for your iPod or phone.
Speaking of modern conveniences, you also get the safety of dual
front airbags, side airbags, ABS, and stability control. But your
favorite features are the ones that will have you seeing red.
There's a glowing red cue-ball shifter boldly sitting in the middle
of this dark interior. And the included red Track Key that can be
programmed (at Ford) to unleash the full power of this modern
beast.
With dual overhead cams, 32-valves, and 5.0-liters, the Coyote V8
is one of the best modern engines of our time. The special Boss
motor was massaged to be more powerful than the GT for an
impressive 444 horsepower at its peak. Plus, the exhaust was
upgraded with deleted cats, and a growling side-exit cutout system
(you can get blocking plates to return a more traditional dual
exhaust.) You have full control over this performance V8 and its
rumbling soundtrack thanks to the six-speed manual transmission. In
fact, speaking of control, the full Boss package includes great
competition-inspired components like Ford Racing lowering springs
and a Ford Racing one-piece driveshaft. And with every driving
convenience from power steering to four-wheel power disc brakes, we
know why you'll be taking this speedy pony everywhere.
This is the kind of modern classic that knows how to be out there
in the world and help grow the icon of the performance-built Boss
302s. So if you want to be legendary, call today!
