With a Roush upgraded supercharged V8, loaded interior, and a Steve
McQueen level of cool built right in, this 2009 Ford Mustang
Bullitt GT is the modern collectible with all the right added
investment that will have you wanting to add to the low
odometer.
The '09 Bullitt edition Mustangs were all about attitude, and they
were quite rare, too. Only 635 coupes were finished in the
Bullitt-worthy Dark Highland Green. And because this is a
low-mileage two-owner example, it has been treated with the proper
respect. This special edition Mustang is a clean and sleek machine,
just like the one McQueen used to run down the bad guys all over
the hills of San Francisco. So it's all about emphasizing the
smooth lines of the retro pony car - the only badging you'll even
find is on the rear center cap. It really is a proper tribute to
the ultimate hero car, right down to the dark alloys to mimic
McQueen's competition-style Torq Thrust units. But take a second
look at those wheels. There's an extra-wide rear set that's not
stock. And there are other subtle upgrades, like the hood pins,
sleek side mirrors, and rear diffuser. It has the look of a meaner
Mustang, and you'll know more about why in a moment.
And while the car is so aggressively dark outside, it only gets
more aggressive with the full black interior. But as you sit down
in the power-adjusting leather bucket, you also notice plenty of
bright upgrades over the standard Mustang GT. The machine-turned
panels that flow across the dash are great exclusive pieces to get
your blood pumping, and the Bullitt center cap on the horn reminds
you this is a special Mustang. This one is loaded with features
such as power windows, power locks, dual airbags, a tilt wheel,
ABS, cruise control, a powerful Shaker 500 AM/FM/CD stereo, and
cold-blowing air conditioning. But just like the exterior, you can
see there are also some nice upgrades like the short-throw shifter,
start button, and exhaust cutout switch.
This carries its correct 4.6-liter V8 engine. While the
fuel-injected motor was already a giant killer right out of the
box, this one has had some serious investment added. At the heart
of it is a shining Roush supercharger. It also includes a Roush
cold air intake, Ford Performance hot rod camshaft, JBA long tube
headers, an SVT performance programmer, SCT handheld programmer
with tune from HPP. The MagnaFlow three-inch dual exhaust makes a
great V8 rumble, but whenever you really want to bring the thunder,
there's also the electric cutout system. It's also upgraded to be a
better driver with adjustable front-end camber plates, a Steeda
rear third link, lowering brackets on Roush lower control arms,
1.25-inch lowering springs, an adjustable panhard bar, and QA1 dual
adjustable front struts and rear shocks. You get full control over
this powerful pony car with a five-speed manual transmission
feeding a Ford Performance 4.10 rear end. Completing this solid
driving package is power steering, Nitto Extreme ZR-rated tires,
and four-wheel power disc brakes with drilled and slotted
rotors.
Complete with owner's manual, this is the extra-rare and
extra-speedy Mustang you're going to love to collect and drive.
