This 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera RS is one of 290 examples equipped
with the M003 Clubsport option from the factory and intended for
use in Group N/GT racing. Power is derived from a 3.6-liter
flat-six mated to a five-speed manual transaxle with steel
synchronizers, A 20/100 percent variable-locking limited-slip
differential, Lightened flywheel and was rated at 256 horsepower
with 240 lb-ft of torque. For maximum rigidity, the tub has been
seamed welded from the factory and a Matter integrated roll cage is
factory installed. Other features that set the RS Clubsport apart
are factory rolled fenders, Aluminum hood, Manual side mirrors,
Thinner side and rear windows, Fog lamp delete and a lightweight
rear bumper.
The Carrera RS came adjustable Bilstein coil-overs as well as
adjustable front and rear sway bars. Braking is from four-piston
Turbo style calipers and cross-drilled rotors at each corner and
the RS rides on lightweight 17? Magnesium Cup wheels.
The cockpit has been stripped of carpeting, Sound deadening
material and houses Black Recaro seats with Porsche crests, Red
Schroth racing harnesses, Roll-up windows and Lightweight door
panels with Red door pull straps. On the driver-side, the footwell
is covered with plywood and the passenger side houses dual fire
suppression bottles. A battery cut-off switch is located to the
left of the RS-branded steering wheel which frames a central
tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline as well as a 300-km/h
speedometer. Additionally there is a clock, fuel gauge as well as
gauges for oil level, oil temperature and oil pressure. The Carrera
RS is also fitted as delivered with a short-throw shifter
positioned closer to the driver than standard 964's.
The RS Clubsport has been collector owned and cared from from new.
It has been serviced and maintained by both Porsche Zentrum
Dusseldorf as well as Porsche RuF Pfaffenhausen while in German
ownerships and is complete with full service and ownership
histories. Imported by a good friend of Autosport Designs, a
well-known East Coast collector, admittedly "OCD" about his
collection, he has stated having purchased this RS from a similar
"OCD" German Mercedes Benz collector. The RS is fabulous in every
way. It has been fully detailed and the entire RS has full Stek
paint protection film with Gyeon ceramic coating, including the
wheel wells, calipers, wheels, etc.
