Vehicle Description
A numbers-matching V8 power under the hood, the best features, and
long-term care all come together on this 1978 Buick LeSabre. It
makes for a distinctive and detail-oriented classic offered for
quite a nice price.
This coupe is a bygone era of long and stylish American two-doors.
The white paint has a good gloss you want to give the right tone to
a well-kept classic. This one is coming off over 20 years of
long-term ownership. The glossy white is nicely contrasted with a
well-done half-vinyl roof and a pinstripe done in a distinguished
burgundy. It gives this LeSabre Custom an upper-class style. As you
look through this one inside and out, there's a preserved spirit
where any investments were about keeping a stock style to go with
the rest of the well-preserved factory elements. You see it in the
crisp sheet metal, bright chrome bumpers, clear/clean glass, and
Buick Rallye wheels. It delivers a sharp-looking true vintage
American coupe.
The red interior is a proper exercise in vintage elegance. It
starts with the seats that have a bright color and a comfy
pillow-top velour. There's darker red piping here that's also seen
on places like the dash and steering wheel. And as you look over
the door panels, carpeting, headliner, and all the details, you
soon see that it's all thoughtfully coordinated. Because this is a
full-size coupe, you've got room to bring up to five family and
friends with ease. Or you can fold the middle armrest to give you a
more individual luxury experience. No matter how many people are
along for the ride, they will all do it in comfort. This came
loaded from the factory with features such as a tilt steering
column, AM/FM stereo, and air conditioning (now blowing cold with
modern R134a.) We loved the preserved style with the smooth
wood-like trim on the dash, classic floor mats, working clock, and
a full lighting package that greets you when the door opens. The
only addition you'll likely spot is the auxiliary gauge trio under
the dah. It has a nice bright panel to go with the silver
background factory readouts, and it also reminds you that this
classic was made to be a true cruiser.
Under the hood is the 301 cubic-inch motor. It has such a stock and
well-preserved presentation that it makes for a great way to show
the numbers-matching motor. It's a torque-filled setup that loves
to run and moves this classic coupe with the right swiftness. More
of this Buick's excellent cruising capabilities come with features
like a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power
brakes, front discs, and Buick's legendary supple ride.
