Rod properly. After all, it has the mean look of a flame-kissed
matte black street machine, but the growl you hear from the motor
is slightly different. Under the hood is one of the most robust
powerplants Toyota has ever created.

weave carpet on the floor. But just like the exterior, it doesn't
take much to understand a higher level of thoughtfulness. After
all, you may just get lawn chairs in a proper rat rod, but this has
actual modern car seats with seatbelts. The position of the pedal,
steering wheel, and shifter all feel suitable for a trustworthy
driver. And there's even an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with a
fold-out touchscreen, USB input, and Bluetooth.
There's more distinction under the hood. While the bold red head of
the motor may have a Ford decal, most of us see the Toyota
stamping. This is the legendary 20R motor, and this 2.2-liter
powerhouse is the bedrock of Toyota's robust reputation. This is
riding on the Toyota truck's chassis. It makes for a custom classic
that fires up eagerly, runs well, and feels nimble. It makes for
one of the most excellent driving rat rods you're likely to find!
That's especially true with accessible cruising features like a
three-speed automatic transmission, power brakes, and front discs.

with details like the electric exhaust cutout and a unique
