Vehicle Description
You can see this 1988 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat 4x4 started life as a
premium pickup, but it also has aged into a distinct patina. And
while part of this one's legend is basically like a barn find, it
has also been appropriately resurrected to have a solid
fuel-injected V8, handy four-wheel drive, and loaded A/C
interior.
This truck has a cool story. It was parked under a tree for about a
dozen years - that's why the low odometer is believed to represent
the total mileage. It just didn't run one day, and no one bothered
to fix it. So nature started to try and reclaim this truck by
eroding the paint into a genuine patina. But before this one faded
away, it was resurrected. This Ford was finally given the respect
it deserved in 2019 with a complete system restoration to properly
return it to the road. But what wasn't touched was the well-aged
style. And that means you have a strong heart beneath an authentic
patina. Looking over the whole package, parking under a tree has
advantages. The body missed out on more than a decade of dents and
dings from a parking lot battle. And more than just a fabulous
patina and a straight body, this F-150 has an appeal for being very
useful. Full running boards, side handles, bed rails, tie-downs,
tow mirrors, and a thick rubber bed mat make this 4x4 quite
handy.
The XLT Lariat trim means a premium pickup, and the interior shows
that off nicely. There are plenty of comfort features like power
windows, power locks, a sliding rear window, the factory
AM/FM/cassette stereo, and cold-blowing air conditioning. The
velour seat has high-back comfort and a fold-down center console
for personal space. It's built for long-haul comfort with a tilt
steering column, full gauges, and cruise control. You may find some
sun wear details, but you can tell this was sealed up nicely. So it
feels like a loaded time capsule.
Under the hood is the optional 5.8-liter V8. Part of the
resurrection of this pickup in 2019 means plenty invested in key
areas like the fuel system for electronic fuel injection. The motor
will feel entirely restored because you also have newer components
like the radiator, hoses, belts, air cleaner, alternator, battery,
A/C system, and more. So it fires up eagerly and loves to hit the
road. More of the investment focused on the overall driving
experience, including the exhaust, shocks, and tires. These join
the power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a three-speed
automatic transmission for a leisurely cruising attitude. And don't
forget, this matured pickup is also a proper 4x4 with a handy
two-speed transfer case.
The sale comes with the owner's manual, original warranty card, and
build receipts. This is an opportunity at a unique patina machine
that's also a loaded classic pickup. And you know the affordable
price makes this interesting F-150 irresistible. Call now!
