The 1963 Pontiac Bonneville was the king of the road. So you know
it's special to find a well-restored car with terrific features
like power windows, V8 power, and the distinct 8-lug wheels.
The Bonneville was a premium full-size coupe, and in 1962 it had
the kind of design to properly show off a premium cruiser style.
The grille had the kind of crisp chrome to look like a jukebox. The
full-length trim looks like the jet age inspired it. And the rear
has a beautiful design that utilizes the bumpers, fenders, and tail
lights to create a truly artistic curve. It almost feels like a
movie marquee promoting the Bonneville in the middle. We can tell
there was a solid restoration investment in this coupe because of
how the panels fit and how the white paint continues to shine with
distinction. But you'll also see this was made to be a true
cruiser. That's why the classic 8-lug wheels now have modern
cruising tires.
The interior keeps the premium cruiser feeling going. It looks
highly original and nicely detailed, down to the intricate door
panels. And there's always something appealing about a full-size
coupe with two rows of wide bench seats. It just gets you thinking
about cruising with family and friends. You have some nice classic
features, like the working dome light, wood-like dash trim, and
there are even provisions for factory-style air conditioning (it
will need servicing and/ or parts to blow cold again.) Our favorite
upper-class amenity has to be the power windows. It means you can
take down all the side glass and show off the pillarless hardtop
profile without leaving the driver's seat.
The engine bay continues this car's look of proper investment.
That's why the brightly painted blue block radiates so nicely
within the clean and dark components of the motor. Fans of the GTO
recognize the Pontiac 389 cubic-inch motor, and it's a great
powerplant to have here, too. This has a four-barrel carburetor and
dual exhaust. But this one is really about effortless cruising. The
engine runs smoothly, and you have easy shifting of the automatic
transmission. There's also power steering and power brakes to keep
this Bonneville cruising the boulevard. And as you look underneath,
the clean red oxide paint and fresh-looking components (even the
bolts) give you extra confidence in how this one moves down the
road.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and Pontiac
Historic Service (PHS) documentation. This is the premium hardtop
cruiser with the right features and investments to be a memorable
vintage cruiser. Call now!
