this all-blue 1962 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan will give you the blues

The Fairlane had some terrific style, and the brightwork has plenty
to do with it. This Club Sedan has beautiful wraparound chrome
bumpers, and the body panels remain straight, so the full-length
trim appears like an almost unbroken piece. As this trim continues
onto the rear, it helps develop into a stylish tailfin. And the
afterburner-style taillights are pure jet-age cool. The half-mirror
headlight and bright dual exhaust tips are some nice hints at some
custom style. But what we like best are the wheels. The classic
Ford wheel covers have plenty of style, and the darker blue color
of the wheels looks great against the smooth light blue paint to
give the exterior a hint of two-tone. And that kind of style is no
accident...
The two-tone blue outside gets you ready for a two-tone blue
interior. We especially like the upholstery with the tuck & roll
inserts and the stylish insignia trim. You can just imagine
something like this in the showroom in 1962 where it looked like
Ford was delivering you a custom car. Good door panels, carpeting,
and a smooth dash give this a good feeling of quality. And front
bucket seats, a center console in-between, and a full round gauge
package make this feel like a proper driver's classic.
Ford's 289 cubic-inch V8 was still a few years away when this
Fairlane first hit the streets, but today it fits in the engine bay
so nicely. We love them because they are a hardy motor that loves
upgrades. This one now has an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an
Edelbrock intake, Ford Motorsports cast valve covers, and a
glasspack-style dual exhaust. A strong powerhouse like this makes
for a good cruiser. In fact, this one wants you to feel the road
like a proper old-school classic. But you also have features like a
three-speed automatic transmission and wide radial tires to keep it
a solid driver.
