Vehicle Description
If you're a fan of the late, great Pontiac, then we suggest you dig
a little deeper into this example of an affordable luxury coupe.
Offering spacious comfort, cold A/C, solid V8 power, and
rear-wheel-drive prowess, this 1985 Pontiac Grand Prix LE was the
top-of-the-line machine when new that continues to have timeless
premium appeal today.
These cars practically defined the 1980s with their long hood and
short deck design, which has never gone out of style. The gray
paint has a nice and clean look that helps to show off the
well-fitting body panels. It looks good now, and a respray or
comprehensive detail would be the final step in unlocking an
impressive style. This one goes for a classic level of elegance
with the brightly split grille, stand-up hood ornament, insignia
tail lights, and a tasteful gray half-vinyl top. And because this
is GM's performance division, an iconic set of American Racing Torq
Thrust wheels and Mickey Thompson raised white letter tires to give
it the right touch of sporty appeal.
Inside, the gray velour upholstery has a level of cleanliness that
can make today feel like it's the summer of 1985. Amenities include
power windows, power locks, a tilt steering column, cruise control,
a fold-down center armrest, and cold-blowing air conditioning. The
radio has even been upgraded to an AM/FM/CD stereo, so you can
listen to modern tunes while you comfortably cruise along (the
stock stereo also comes with the sale.) Pontiac's round gauge/light
setup is part of the sporty side, and this complete package looks
exceptionally unique, where even the A/C vents are part of the
symmetry. It all makes for a loaded and plush cruiser. And a
classic like this remains terrific for driving. That's why you have
plenty of room in the rear for passengers, and the trunk is large
enough for a long golfing vacation.
Under the hood is a 305 cubic-inch small block V8. Topped with a
four-barrel carburetor, this is a similar setup to the Monte Carlo
SS coupes of the sale era. So you can unlock plenty of added power
if you want some old-school Pontiac fun. But what we like right now
is that it makes the right torque to swiftly move this coupe. Plus,
it has a smooth and easy feeling that makes it an impressive real
driving classic. The four-speed automatic transmission, supple
ride, power steering, power brakes, and front discs make for a
great cruising package.
The sale comes with good paperwork like the original bill of sale,
the owner's manual, maintenance records, and Pontiac Historic
Service (PHS) documentation. This is a terrific premium Pontiac for
those who like to arrive in style on trips near or far. Call
