For Sale: 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle in Concord, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

Pay close attention because this 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 LS5 has everything you want. We have a partial buildsheet showing it's a real-deal Super Sport that was born with the LS5 motor. And there's arguably an even more powerful package under the hood today. Plus, you have a distinct color combo, well-placed additions, and four-on-the-floor to control the big block power.

This was born a Nevada Silver car, but that was traded in later in life for a shade called Shadow Gray. It's a Chevelle color from the previous year, and the darker tone gives this real-deal Super Sport a meaner and more aggressive look. It makes for the ideal companion to the black racing stripes that were painted on top. It also has a nice clearcoat and additional ceramic coat luster that radiates nicely in the sunshine to complement the chrome bumpers and trim. It's all quite attractive, but you also don't get nervous driving it because a SS hardtop deserves to be seen by everyone. And you can showcase the right aggressive features, like the cowl hood, proper SS badging, wide dual exhaust tips, and Mag-style SS wheels.

It's hard to find a better color than black for a proper muscle car interior. That's why we're happy to see the seating, door panels, and dash look so deep and dark. There are even cool details like the working dome light and AM radio. Plus, there's a well-placed upgrade to the air conditioning system. But what you'll like is how this SS focuses on the driver. It includes front bucket seats, a center console, a Hurst shifter, bright auxiliary gauges, and a three-spoke sports steering wheel.

Under the hood, the smooth Shadow Gray inner fenders funnel your attention to the bright big block radiating in the middle. The partial buildsheet indicates this is an LS5 454 Chevelle. Today, it keeps the same big block displacement, but it's upgraded with a younger motor. So you can see freshness in its bright and tidy style. Plus, it's built for power with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Merlin intake, and long tube headers. You've probably picked up on the motion badges, decals, and signatures around the car. We don't have the full story on the Motion Performance connection, but this one certainly has the power upgrades to proudly stand with these legendary muscle machines. It warms up to be a strong powerhouse, and the powerful sound from the dual exhaust sounds like this has an upgraded cam. There are also terrific supporting components added in the last year, including the MSD ignition, MSD billet distributor plug wires, spark plugs, radiator hoses, an Optima battery, and fresh fluids - including the transmission, rear end, and coolant. So it's the kind of car you'll want to drive, and so it has desirable features like power steering, power brakes, front discs, and wide BF Goodrich T/As. And, of course, we know you'll love taking full control of the enhanced V8 and its rumbling soundtrack with the Muncie four-speed manual transmission.

The sale comes complete with an owner's manual and the very important partial factory buildsheet. This is a great all-around muscle car cruiser with a true Super Sport pedigree. Call now!
