Vehicle Description
This 1965 Ford Mustang Roadster is made for the true drivers and
enthusiasts out there. With an iconic racing design, a thoughtful
layout, side pipes, four-on-the-floor, a powerful 347 stroker
motor, and much more, it's all about getting in touch with the
essential fun of driving.
Wimbledon White with blue racing stripes painted on top... you know
you're looking at a GT350 tribute. This has nice racing detail,
too, like the hood pins, hood scoop, chin spoiler, side scoops,
rocker stripes, and racing-style Torq Thrust wheels. There are even
some nice speedy additions that go beyond the standard tribute,
like the R-series front bumper, a CS-style integrated rear spoiler,
a color-matched rear bumper, and a thundering set of side pipes. It
all makes for a distinct car that was carefully crafted. We're told
the consignor owned this car for decades. And it's not just this
was upgraded to be a cool Shelby tribute, but it was also upgraded
from a coupe to a roadster. You can see how the conversion was done
with care from the smooth feel of the door tops, windshield frame,
and rear panel. And a particularly nice touch is how the racing
stripes continue through the padded roll bar. Plus, without windows
or doors, you get a smoother style that doesn't need exterior door
handles. While this is a custom creation, we also bet Carroll
Shelby would have tried to delete the roof and shed as much weight
as possible if he could have. After all, you've seen the Cobra,
right?
Since this one is one to the world, the interior has some added
style. It includes custom two-tone door panels, smoother rear inner
panels, and bold blue upholstery that coordinates with the exterior
stripes. And we like the level of thoughtfulness inside. It's in
everything from the classic Cobra badges to the radio installed in
the passenger door so that the swatch panel can take center stage.
And you can tell this Shelby tribute is a driver-focused setup with
the racing front bucket seats, grippy sports steering wheel,
classic Hurst shifter, and a complete set of AutoMeter gauges with
large speedo and tach.
The extra-tidy engine bay shows off the best in Cobra pieces, like
the ribbed valve covers and polished Monte Carlo bar. But unlike
the GT350, this has a big displacement increase with a 347
cubic-inch stroker V8. It's a full-performance build that also
includes aluminum heads, an Edelbrock intake, and Holley
four-barrel carburetor on top. There are also nice supporting
components, like an aluminum radiator, a Pertronix FlameThrower
distributor, steel braided lines, and the batter mounted in the
trunk for better weight distribution. A nice set of Hedman headers
allow this V8 to exhale with added power and plenty of thunder from
the side pipes. You take complete control of this soundtrack with
the four-speed manual transmission. Subframe connectors, front disc
brakes, and wide BF Goodrich T/As make for a great all-around power
car package.
This is a fun way to have a true driver's pony car. So if you love
a powerful roadster with a sharp Shelby-level style, don't miss
this custom. Call now!
