Vehicle Description
This 1979 Chevrolet K10 Custom Deluxe is a different kind of cool.
It's a survivor-level 4x4 with V8 power, nice features, and a true
patina style that's better than a candy-coated finish to many of us
truck fans.
The best trucks have an awesomely rugged sense of style. So we love
to see it when it appears as if this one has gone over forty years
with the same finish. In fact, the history we have on this one
indicates that it has been with the same owner from new up until
earlier this year. So while the color was once called Bright Blue
when the Flint factory first applied it, today it's more likely
just to be called patina blue. The finish has fade and wear, but
the body still shows the crisp lines of good respect. So while this
would look quite nice with a respray, we'd hate to erase 40+ years
of earned history. It has all the pieces you want in a faithful
workhorse, including wide towing mirrors, a rear step bumper with a
tow ball, dual fuel tanks, and a tall 4x4 stance. And yes, as
honest as this pickup is, it can't help but put a shining face
forward with the newer headlights, polished grille surround, and
bright chrome bumper.
The interior follows more of that survivor attitude. But the robust
classic feeling is exactly what you want when column shifting the
transmission or opening up the rear window to let the breeze
through. So you may make an investment to restore the air
conditioning or add a new dash pad because that's what you like in
a cruiser. But we're just happy to see the whole package remaining
so honest, right down to the working AM radio.
Under the hood is a classic 350 cubic-inch V8 motor with a
four-barrel carburetor on top. It's the right displacement for this
pickup, and it makes for a solid power package. Like the rest of
this truck, the appearance remains honest and stock. But the way
this runs so smoothly reminds you of proper care under long-term
ownership. You'll even spot newer fundamentals like the alternator.
It's fun to take full control over this with the classic
three-on-the-tree manual transmission. Plus, power steering, power
brakes, and front discs make this Chevy truck ready to be a great
cruiser. And the two-speed 4x4 transfer case, lifted suspension,
and all-terrain tires are ready for off-road work.
This is an impressively vintage 4x4 that tells its history all in
the first glance. It makes for an all-around awesome attitude that
you need to get your hands on right now. Call today!!!
