Vehicle Description
2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302
The Mustang Boss 302 is a high-performance variant of the Ford
Mustang originally produced by Ford in 1969 and 1970, alongside its
more powerful sibling the Boss 429 Mustang. Ford revived the Boss
302 nameplate for 2012. The standard 2011 Ford Mustang GT's
5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine is enhanced and was referred to within
Ford's development teams as the Road Runner engine.
For consignment, a one owner since new Boss 302 from 2013 and the
blue oval. An exceptionally clean example with a mere 5,346
original miles, School Bus Yellow and a front and rear aero
splitter setup on the bottom of this racer. Some sexy black decal
striping, tinted glass and a beautifully preserved interior, lets
go for a "bus" tour of this car.
Exterior
Ultra fine straight steel panels cover the solid framework of this
car, and are all bathed in School Bus Yellow. Don't be fooled
though this one does not make any stops! There are some areas of
scuffing, a few chips and some black staining seen on this finish,
but it should be able to be compounded out. A shiny black chin
spoiler, (splitter), hood bump black stripe that breaks off prior
to the windshield becomes smaller then dives down with 302 badging
and runs through the doors horizontally. A tinted rear sloping
glass that ends up prior to the trunk lid which stops at a black
rear spoiler. The rear sports the triple iconic Mustang tail
lighting and a large galloping horse gas filler cap. Lower roll pan
is a small splitter for some aero excitement. 19 inch black multi
spoke wheels have a shiny center hub, and a snappy polished lip and
are wrapped in black wall tires. Don't forget the sporty B pillar
air vent reminiscent of the earlier Shelbys of yore.
Interior
Inside the passenger compartment, Charcoal Gray suede cloth and
leather inserts and smooth bolstered Recaro racing seats are
installed, and the center of attention for the passenger
compartment. The sporty dash with blue LCD display instruments
fronts these seats, and uses its sculpted lines to show off
sportiness throughout the interior. The gauge cluster is a
throwback to Gen 1 of this car with the circular flanking large
instruments on either end of the gauge cluster and now a digital
center of information displays. The dash center contains a litany
of push buttons for the stereo controls and climate adjustments. A
rear 2+2 seat is installed and 2 more can go for the joyride! Black
carpeting is in nice clean condition, and the headliner above is
lookin' great.
Drivetrain
Under the sculpted hood is the heart of the matter in the form of
the Boss 302 5.0 Liter Coyote V8 with EFI. A MT-82 6 speed manual
transmission is on back of this buxom mill, and power gets pushed
rearward to a Ford 8.8 inch 3.73 TracLoc rear axle. All buttoned up
and very clean under this hood.
Undercarriage
Simply put, just showroom underneath with factory overspray, aero
coverings, racing inspired suspension which is adjustable, and
power Brembo front disc brakes and standard power rear discs add
the woah factor to counteract the go factor. Factory dual exhaust
is on with side outlets as well as the rear mounted chrome
tips.
Drive-Ability
A solid runner, good acceleration and steady braking with rail-like
handling. Interior seats are very comfy, and instruments are well
within the driver's eye scan. All functions were working well as
they should. A very groovy throwback in some ways, and forward
thinking in others test drive experience.
Just a beautiful example in nice condition for this Boss 302 from
2013. Harkening back to the days of earlier models yet contemporary
in its racy design to menace the competition. A few frowns in the
School Bus Yellow paint, but overall a low mileage, well
maintained, garage kept one owner muscle car throwback to its great
history. Win on Sunday, sell on Monday.
