1986 Land Rover Defender 130
Hand-crafted, starting with a new galvanized powder coated frame and powered by a remapped Land Rover 2.4 liter turbo diesel mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The heavy-duty LT230 transfer case with center differential locking (CDL) distributes constant power to all four wheels.
The upgraded, heavy-duty PUMA-spec front and rear axles are located by Terrafirma® 2" lift springs, along with heavy-duty Fox® shocks, Terrafirma® cranked radius arms, track rod, drag link, and steering damper on the front, all protected by a front heavy-duty aluminum skidplate. It rides on satin black powder-coated 20” Kahn “Mondial Retro Light” wheels, wrapped with 275/65R20 Cooper® SST/PRO all-terrain tires. To ensure stopping is safe, quick, and effective, the vehicle is equipped with upgraded 4-wheel power slotted and drilled disc brakes.
The body was finished in Santorini Black Metallic with matching roof and front wheel arches and then carefully reassembled on the chassis. Terrafirma® rock sliders with integrated tree bars will help guard the precious aluminum body panels. Heavy-duty rubber factory floor mats over full carpeted interior. Gloss black powder-coated Optimill® billet aluminum side mirrors with integrated LED puddle lamps and exterior door handles and hinges complete the overall clean appearance.
Gloss black light surrounds anchor the matching LR Adventure grille. The PUMA-spec bonnet is mounted with Optimill® gloss black powder-coated aluminum hinges, which complement the matching Optimill® aluminum windscreen hinges. A Terrafirma® black powder-coated, high approach angle off-road A-bar winch bumper with a Warn® VR EVO® 10,000-pound winch.
The modern, PUMA-spec leather dash provides excellent heating and air conditioning to help ensure the interior is comfortable year-round and houses the PUMA-spec instrument cluster. The bespoke interior is complete with LED ambient lighting and Land Rover Autobiography black leather front seats with heat, matching rear seats, and custom leather door cards with Optimill® aluminum door levers and lock pegs. A leather wrapped center console. The front and rear windows and locks are power-operated and the black Alcantara headliner with 2 manual siding canvas tops finishes things off inside.
A gorgeous piano-black finish center dash binnacle with Optimill® silver-anodized billet aluminum HVAC control knobs houses the infotainment system consisting of a double-DIN Alpine® touch-screen head unit with Bluetooth®, Apple Car Play®, Android Auto®, and a backup camera coupled to a crisp-sounding Rockford Fosgate® speaker array.
