Vehicle Description
STK 3346 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS
The last year of the Gen1 Chevelle was a great one. By 1967, the
SS396 was no longer an option to the Chevelle line, but a model in
and of itself. A factory '67 SS3396 received a VIN number of
'13817...' to identify its authenticity. This beautiful SS396 is a
'138 code' Chevelle and has been beautifully restored and
mechanically enhanced. If you love the sound of the big-block
motor, this is your Chevelle. According to the trim tag, the
original color was Tuxedo Black and this professional 2-stage
refinish (2015) is stunning. Accents include classic red pin
stripping and 15" Keystone chrome wheels that mount BFG Silvertown
'red-line' radials. The vinyl interior has been completely restored
to original - upholstery, door cards, headliner, carpeting and dash
are all top-shelf. Features include new Sanden air conditioning,
bucket seats, console w/clock, Budnik wheel on a tilt column,
tinted windows and SS mats. An aftermarket AM/FM sound system has
also been installed. The owner states that the original 396 'Rat'
has been replaced with a period-correct 427ci 'Tall' big-block.
This carefully built, fully dressed 427 sports a single plane
polished aluminum intake, Edelbrock performance carburetor, coated
full-tube headers and free-flow dual exhaust. The cam has nice lift
and duration, but is not radical. Engine cooling is managed by a
heavy-duty radiator and six-blade fan. This Chevelle is very
streetable - and sounds magnificent. The 4-speed Muncie M-22 'Rock
Crusher' is fitted with a Hurst Comp+ shifter and transfers torque
to a 12-bolt positraction differential with 3.73:1 gearing.
Underneath, the chassis has been totally refreshed. It is equipped
power steering power disc/drum w/dual master cylinder and SS
suspension with front sway bar. This Chevelle SS427 is truly a
unique investment and belongs in your Bowtie garage. ALL VEHICLES
SOLD "AS IS".
