Vehicle Description
This 1976 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is one of those exceptional
classics that seems to offer everything. It's why you get the
numbers-matching V8 that also has performance enhancements. And the
exterior may have the classic landau roof, but it's now surrounded
by modern metallic paint. And of course, the interior remains a
personal luxury machine that lets you ride in cool A/C comfort.
We love the burnt orange paint. It has a touch of earth-tone color
that basically defined the 1970s, but this is an upgraded
application with plenty of metallic shine to give this classic a
true modern appeal. Stacked square headlights, Rally wheels, chrome
bumpers, and a half vinyl roof all add to a sharp-looking classic.
Plus, we just love the lines on this generation Monte Carlo. The
lengthy hood has plenty of time to develop beautiful sweeping lines
in the sheet metal. And the rear fenders have a sporty line that
starts just behind the door handles and doesn't finish until they
reach the extended tail lights. Oh yes, this one has the size and
style to own the road.
The interior tan coordinates nicely with the vinyl roof. It just
makes for a thoughtful touch to see this car look good inside and
out. The fundamentals look highly original, and so you may find
some wear or cracks from 45+ years. But the full story is the level
of care you see in details like the working dome light and or a
button missing from the seatbacks. And you'll love the luxurious
nature of a loaded cruiser with power windows, power locks, a tilt
steering column, and cruise control. And there are well-integrated
upgrades, like the AM/FM/CD stereo (with subwoofers in the massive
trunk,) and air conditioning now running on R134a refrigerant. You
even have the addition of a power sunroof!
Under the hood is the optional 350 cubic-inch V8. While this is the
numbers-matching unit, the burnt orange block showcases quite a
nice upgraded attitude. It's a stronger power hose thanks to an
Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock EPS intake, and long
tube headers feeding the dual exhaust. It's even supported by the
right pieces like a March serpentine belt system and MSD Street
Fire ignition. So the enhanced motor has the right power and torque
to move this Monte with ease, and the three-speed automatic
transmission shifts like a premium coupe should. This is
Chevrolet's personal luxury statement, so you get great driving
features such as power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a
rear sway bar.
Complete with owner's manual, this is a stunning cruiser that will
keep people thinking you paid far more than its value price. This
is a true classic that's truly upgraded in the best ways. Call
