For Sale: 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza in Lewisville, Texas

Vehicle Description

Garrett Classics is presenting this nice driver quality 64 Corvair.

The Corvair was built by Chevrolet from 1960 to 1969. This little convertible was actually sold by us from our old dealership 10 years ago to a gentleman in Red Oak, TX. He is 93 now and can't drive anymore so he has to part with her.

Features Include:

Flat 6 Cylinder Engine- 164 ci
Approximately 110HP
2 Speed Powerglide Automatic Transmission
2 Rochester Carburetors
Heat no A/C
Drum Brakes
Manual Convertible Top
Padded Dash
Tinted Windshield
The trim tag in the engine compartment shows this body to have been built the 4th week in September of 64, and the car was assembled at Willow Run MI. It is the original Goldwood Yellow, and has black imitation leather seats, with a white vinyl top.

This car runs really well. It has a few minor leaks which are common in these cars. You will see it's pretty clean underneath. We found a few very small areas of rust under the car, but nothing that is structurally unsafe. The owner said he did have a small accident and someone hit him in the driver's door. It was repaired with a new door and there appears to be no damage to the lower rockers or frame. You'll see the undercarriage shots look good.

The interior is in very good condition. This year Corvair has the shift lever on the dash. So you won't see a floor shifter or a column shift. The automatic transmission shifts well, and the brakes were working very well when we did the video. In the front trunk area you will find an extra set of nub caps that come with the car.

The convertible top is in good condition. It may be the original top. The inside panels have a few holes, but the top is still good. The back window is a little discolored, but the owner said he never had it up, so we were happy to see it was as good as it is.

There were 2,318,619 Corvairs built in 1964 alone, of those only 31,045 were Monza Convertibles.

The odometer is showing 58886 miles. Our seller said that when he purchased the car from us 10 years ago, the car was said to be mostly all original. The interior is original, the top had been installed before we sold it, and it was a true low mileage car. Other than the damage to the door, the car was never in any accidents and was always taken care of.

This is a great beginner car for someone wanting to get into the classics at a good price and one that you don't need to be afraid to drive.
