Vehicle Description
This 1985 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance is a classic that
is becoming cooler by the day - especially because this one is
preserved, loaded, and has a story to tell. So the affordable price
really makes this V8 cruiser irresistible.
This was the final year for the DeVille and Fleetwood full-size
rear-wheel drive coupes, which now are just loved for being some of
the best large and luxurious personal cruisers around. The story
we're told is this is a two-owner car - father and son. So now is
your chance to be the first owner outside of the family. And since
this coupe has so much history, it chooses to wear it on full
display. The Dark Sandstone Metallic shows all the right signs of
being the original application, and it's complete but certainly
shows its age. The full story and the real care is seen in the
straightness of the sheet metal and the clean look of the
Brougham's hallmark landau vinyl roof. And there are also terrific
details with the clean grille, complete bagging (including the
original deal ear tag,) full-length trim, and the Cadillac wire
wheels. In total, it makes for the premium and well-creased style
you want in a DeVille.
The Medium Beige leather interior looks coordinated against the
earthy brown exterior. While it's unknown if the odometer reflects
the full actual mileage, the full feeling inside is like a
well-preserved time capsule. That means it's opulent and loaded
with power front seats, power windows, power locks, cruise control,
a tilt steering column, and the factory AM/FM/cassette stereo. This
is really impressive on everything you see from the full courtesy
light package to the rare sunroof. In fact, the only update you're
likely to recognize is not one you'll see, but you certainly can
feel it. The air conditioning system is a newer piece running
modern R134a refrigerant to keep you cool for the long haul. Just
like any good Cadillac, it has space for six people, but the
fold-down armrests provide individual comfort. And the trunk is
large enough to carry the whole foursome's golf clubs.
This final year for the generation also meant some distinction
under the hood. It had one of the most advanced powerplants of the
era with Cadillac's 4.1-liter V8. It utilized lightweight aluminum
construction and fuel injection to give this coupe a level of
technology not seen in many earlier years. This example looks
particularly clean with the right investments to remain both stock
and stout. Another feature only available to these later ones was
the four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. A smooth
ride, power steering, and power brakes with front discs make a
great total package.
The sale comes complete with the original owner's manual and
warranty packet. We love this for the survivor that it is. And if
you want a near-perfect Caddy, the value price leaves room in your
budget for details like new paint, tires, headliner, or other
updates/upgrades for your personal tastes. And no matter what first
attracted you to this coupe, it's the overall history, features,
and style that makes this final Fleetwood Brougham coupe
irresistible. Call today!!!
