For nearly twenty years from 1961 through 1979 the Midget was built
as a small two-seater sports car and was produced by MG ,which was
also BMC and later British Leyland. This was a shared platform with
the Austin Healey Sprite and was technically a twin minus the
badging. The Midget 1500 was the final variant and would be built
from 1974 through 1980 and to meet US federal regulations, some
things were changed like the bumpers from steel to rubber impact
style, ride height was increased and certain engine specs were
changed to help with fuel regulations. This particular little miss
sunshine is a nice little driver. It starts right up, shifts decent
and goes down the road pretty nice. Recently this example received
a new clutch, alternator, and battery. The brakes could use a
little attention maybe bled. Other than that, everything is in
working order and an all around fun car to drive as well as a nice
price point to get in to the collector car hobby. The paint is in
decent shape as is the interior and top. Please let us know if you
have any specific questions.
