Vehicle Description
2010 Cadillac CTS-4 Station Wagon
For decades Cadillac never built a station wagon, yet there are a
surprising number of them around. For reasons that were never
totally clear, the Cadillac division of General Motors for most of
its history had a strict policy of staying out of the station wagon
market. Yet, as Dr. Ian Malcolm, (Jeff Goldblum), noted in Jurassic
Park, life finds a way. While Cadillac wagons were never built in
any great number, they were produced in endless variety and by
every kind of third-party supplier, from neighborhood body shops to
the country's finest coachbuilders. Indeed, an entire book could be
produced on the subject of Cadillac station wagons. This is just a
quick look from 10,000 feet. In 2010, the Cadillac division finally
reversed its policy and offered a production station wagon, the
CTS, followed in 2011 by a CTS-V high-performance version sporting
a 556-hp supercharged V8. The wagons were not big sellers and when
the CTS platform was redesigned for 2014, they were dropped.
Recently, Cadillac officials have suggested that a wagon based on
the current CT5 sedan could be introduced. But given the supremacy
of SUVs and crossovers in the U.S. vehicle market these days, we
wouldn't bet on it.
For consignment, a diamond cut design CTS-4 station wagon from 2010
with all the amenitiesone would expect from the luxury marquis
Cadillac Bathed in menacing black, sporting a 3.0 Liter V6 capable
of 270hp, heated and cooled seats and all wheel drive, a great
example of what is sure to become a modern classic.
Exterior
The CTS-4 models feature a traditional dihedral Cadillac grille
with eggcrate backing, along with an diamond cut styled front
fascia which transfers to the similarly styled hood and headlights.
This CTS station wagon exterior incorporates a number of unique
cues that blend function with aesthetics. The diamond cut design
continues down the slab sides of this family hauler and are
accentuated by the slightly sloping aerodynamic roofline and dark
tinted glass that all work together to give the impression of
motion all the while standing still. Standard blackwall shod 17"
multi spoke wheels adorn the corners, these wheels are showing very
slight "curbing" scratches. All this is bathed in black which
presents nicely but upon close inspection shows a few chips and
dings that are normal for the age and mileage. Rounding out the
rear are cathedral style tail lights that wrap up and over the
quarter panels and melt into the roofline as well as a diamond cut
third brake light that works as an eyebrow over the dual opening
rear tailgate complete with rear defogger and wiper. A true cutting
edge design all the while encapsulating you inside in luxurious
comfort...a diamond of many carats for sure!
Interior
This CTS interior features streamlined instrumentation in the form
of a trio of circular instrumentation on the central driver's side
dash, LED lighting and hand-cut-and-sewn accents. We see leather
hides in black on the seats with power controls and the heated and
cooled seat option. These seats, with their oversized bolsters are
designed to hold the driver and front passenger in place during
cornering. Complementing the performance seating is a thick
steering wheel with cruise control as well as auxiliary radio
buttons. Large instruments have bold readouts in white face and a
LCD display for a small information center. Silver accents grace
the center stack which features an audio system including AM/FM
stereo, Sirius satellite radio capability, USB with audio
connectivity, and Bluetooth phone connectivity. This stack melts
down into the faux carbon fiber and silver highlighted console
complete with shifter, (automatic and sport manual modes), heated
and cooled seat controls and the electronic parking brake control.
All flooded in black carpeting which is pristine including the way
back cargo area. Stay comfortable and be styling' while you do
it.
Drivetrain
Crammed into the engine bay under a litany of plastic covers is 3.0
liters of displacement in V6 format, this high tech mill puts out
270 horses. On back is a 6-speed automatic transmission sending
power to all 4 wheels via 3.23 differentials both front and
rear.
Undercarriage
Absolutely cleanunderneath with surface rust on the usual suspects
and solid cast aluminum parts which are not corroded, solid floor
pans and all very clean. Independent Macpherson strut suspension
and power disc brakes are for the front, and on the back are more
power disc brakes surrounded by independent multi-link coil spring
suspension.
Drive-Ability
In the lap of luxury, living large and going like a bolt of
lightning, this chiseled form does not disappoint on the
performance end. It goes on seemingly forever with the power and
handles very nicely as well. All functions were working as they
should, and it is a luxurious and neck snapping ride that is for
you and your passengers to enjoy, all while in ultimate
comfort.
Looking racy and stylish, optioned to beat the band, and plenty of
power to all 4 wheels via the tech savvy V6, what more could you
ask for? How about the keys to take her home?! A turnkey family
hauler soon to be classic in your driveway.
