Vehicle Description
A bold style, an upgraded suspension, and enhanced V8 power make
this 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo instantly attractive. And because
this continues the spirit of a true vintage cruiser, this coupe is
a lot of fun on those weekend drives.
The red paint is an upgrade later in life from the original Code 17
Shadow Gray. It's clean, comprehensive, and sleek with just the
right touches of age for a well-respected classic. And these
hardtops always look good with an extra hint of boldness. And the
full package is attractive with clean glass, good rubber, and
bright chrome bumpers that love to hug the coupe's form. The whole
exterior gives a very vintage impression, right down to the rally
wheels. And we really like how the black streak in the rocker trim
coordinates with the well-fitting black vinyl roof. It just shows
that this Monte Carlo revels in the look of a true classic that's
truly premium.
The black vinyl top outside is also a preview of the full black
interior. We love the details, like how the texture of the seats
matches the door panels. And there's even a new carpet kit that
comes with the sale. This has cool vintage details, like the
walnut-style wood-like trim. Even when this was given additions, it
remains period correct. There is an under-dash A/C unit (currently
just for display) and the upgraded AM/FM/cassette radio is still a
classic Craig unit with a separate equalizer. It's very much a
driver-quality setup, and that also means it's easy to hop in and
enjoy on a whim. And that's because this one is meant to be driven.
Front bucket seats, a desirable center console with horseshoe
shifter, factory tach, and a grippy steering wheel are there to
make you love getting on the open road.
Under the hood is the 400 cubic inch V8. It is the correct spec for
the car, and the correct casting date makes us believe it is most
likely original to the car, but without a VIN on it, we can't be
100% sure. But more than just history is what makes this one
attractive. It's an upgraded package, now with a Holley four-barrel
carburetor replacing the original 2 barrel, an Edelbrock intake,
Moroso valve covers, and headers feeding the dual exhaust. The
undercarriage shows newer investments, like UMI sway bars front and
rear, adjustable upper control arms, poly bushings, and newer
springs. Plus, features like a three-speed automatic transmission,
power steering and power brakes with front discs give this a
confident driving attitude.
Complete with owner's manual, this is a vintage, powerful, and
all-around attractive coupe. So don't miss this Monte. Call
