Vehicle Description
1966 Dodge D100 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck - Arizona Truck - Original
318ci V8 - 4 Speed Manual - Repainted in Factory Blue Paint -
Clean, Classic Pickup Akin to the F-Series under the Ford brand,
the D-Series of pickup trucks under the Dodge name were sold from
October 1960 to September 30, 1993. The same basic design was used
for these trucks except for D marking 4x2 where W marked 4x4
models. With the start of the second-generation D-Series trucks as
well as a mild redesign for the 1965 model year, one constant
remained from the previous Sweptline trucks. This was the optional
V8 engine with the Polyspherical head 318 ci that debuted in 1959.
This V8 continued to be used until 1964, when one of the rarest
pickups from Dodge was introduced €" the Custom Sports package.
While this package featured bucket seats and quad rally stripes
over the hood and roof, it was the High Performance Package
available as an add-on option that gave these trucks their teeth.
Standard power for this pioneering muscle truck was from a 365 hp,
426 Wedge big-block that survived through the 1965 model year.
Although the Dodge pickup truck offered here is not the previously
mentioned muscle truck, it is still a clean and classic truck.
Noted as coming from Arizona, this Sweptline truck is an iconic
example of the trucks offered during the mid-1960s. With a
repainted factory blue paint and being powered by a 318 ci V8
paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, this truck bears all the
original charm that it had when it first rolled off the factory
line. Accented with black wheels and chrome hubcaps, white painted
side mirrors, and an aftermarket truck bed cover, the minimalist
look of this truck is quite stunning. The interior cabin has not
been overlooked and has its own allure as well. The bench seat has
been upholstered with a combination of cloth and vinyl with a
matching cloth headliner. There is no carpeting on the floorboards
but rather a vinyl floormat that extends from the driver's side to
the passenger side. The bright metal face surrounding the
instrument cluster and the white painted door panels offset the
entire interior and compliment the white side mirrors as well. This
D100 has also been upgraded to include an AM/FM radio to aid in any
of those long road trips. Whether you are seeking a classic pickup
truck to round out your collection or have a love for classic
trucks, this D100 is a quality example of both. Although it cannot
claim an all-original status, this Dodge pickup truck is one of the
best that I have seen on the market in a while. We encourage you to
check this one out in person if you are able and hope that it is a
contender for your next purchase. Please call if interested or
e-mail with specific questions. Thank you for looking.
