In 2004 was a big year for the Corvette. The C5 was ending its era and the new C6 was going to debut the next year. The C5 Corvette had historic racing victories on the international stage with a record highlighted by back-to-back GTS-class wins in the 2001 and 2002 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Commemorative Edition Convertible celebrates the final year of the fifth-generation of Corvette production with a special tribute to Corvette Racing's Le Mans-liveried C5-R racers.

The Commemorative Edition package included special Le Mans Blue paint with silver and red striping as seen on the C5-R, crossed-flag embroidery on the seat headrests, silver front and rear emblems recalling Corvette's success at Le Mans, recently black powder-coated wheels with commemorative center inserts.

This 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Commemorative Edition Convertible is one of the last era of C5 Corvettes built before production began on the all-new 2005 sixth-generation models. These C5 Corvettes represented the most significant advancement in Corvette's evolution, a clean-sheet reimagining of America's Sports Car that resulted in higher quality, more power and better ride, handling and refinement than ever before.

Its all-aluminum LS1 350 cubic inch V-8, a Chevrolet production first, could propel the car to over 190 MPH. Its fuel-injected 5.7L/350 HP V-8 is teamed with a 4-speed overdrive automatic transaxle with limited-slip differential and is augmented with speed-sensitive power rack-and-pinion steering and 4-wheel power disc brakes.
