Sunbeam Alpine Series 2, 1962
This is a fun little car to drive around, runs great. Reduced, now it's $11,000, given the economy.
I have a 1962 Sunbeam Alpine Series II. I got it in the late 70's from a coworker. I've spent the last 40+ years rebuilding the motor, transmission, body work, etc With some driving in between rebuilds.. To my wife's delight once I retired, I got it back from a mechanic that put in a rebuilt engine, then I had it repainted, had the interior upholstered and it's running on the road. As far as I know, it’s been in Southern California its whole life.
This is a beautiful red Alpine, with the four-cylinder engine, although this one has a later model engine and transmission.
1725 CC Engine, Standard for a series 2 is 1600 CC
Four speed manual transmission with all four gears synchromesh. Standard for Series 2 is a four speed with no synchro on first gear.
Interior has been reupholstered with a red trim on the seats. Looks great!
Convertible top was removed years ago and I never reinstalled it but I have it and the other parts. there is a slight tear in the top.
Wheels are racing rims and new tires. I also have all four original rims with tires.
The front bumper is now installed.
I ordered a new set of front letters, but some are currently out of stock. Buyer can have the new letters once they come in.
The only rust I am aware of is on the muffler little dots on the front bumper.
Buyer is also welcome to take the car cover I have for it.
Most gauges work but not the fuel gauge.
