For Sale: 1952 Packard 250 Mayfair in McMinnville, Oregon

Vehicle Description

1952 Packard 250 Mayfair Hardtop.
Located near PORTLAND, OREGON.

This 1952 Mayfair Hardtop was sold new by Wilkinson Packard Co. in Wilkinson, Pennsylvania. The original owner was a plumber who shortly after purchase moved to Florida, where the car received limited use. Some years later, the owner moved with the Packard to Palm Springs, California where the current owner purchased the car in 2012.

Now showing 41,200 miles on the odometer, this Mayfair has never been restored. Body is straight and accident-free, with excellent panel fit. It did receive one repaint in the past in correct original "Packard Turquoise Light" color, however the Packard Ivory top wears the original 1952 paint, which is still excellent after 70 years. The chrome is beautiful and bright with no pitting or damage. Current owner added the Packard wire wheels and hubcaps which were fitted with new radial tires when installed and now have just a few hundred miles on them. (The original wheels and hubcaps will be included if wanted by the buyer.)

The original upholstery (which was styled by noted interior designer of the era, Dorothy Draper), is in incredible original condition. Original headliner with no damage. It appears that the carpeting may have been replaced, but it is hard to tell. It is correct red wool, showing no wear. The interior chrome and trim are excellent. All glass and window frames are excellent. All gauges work and register accurately. Radio is present and hums but does not sing. Has rare, Packard accessory swing-out tissue dispenser under the dashboard and accessory Fulton traffic light viewer on top of the dash. Trunk has original floor covering, spare tire/wheel and restored jack in box. Also included is a collection of rare, original dealer items including factory upholstery samples, paint samples, original 1952 Salesman's Data Book, brochures and magazines related to the car.

PLEASE SEE PHOTOS WHICH WERE JUST TAKEN FOR THIS LISTING AND SHOW CURRENT CONDITION.

Mechanically excellent. Original Thunderbolt straight 8 engine starts easily, runs smoothly and with the hood closed is whisper-quiet at idle. No smoke or issues. Ultramatic transmission shifts well with no issues. Factory power brakes stop smooth and straight. Fully serviced and ready to go.

PLEASE SEE VIDEO OF ENGINE RUNNING.

There is little to add. If you are looking for an exceptional original Mayfair for show or go, this is the one. Would be welcome at events, shows and tours by the Packard Club, Packards International and the AACA.

A realistically priced in keeping with its originality, exceptional condition and low original mileage. It could not be duplicated.

WE WILL HAPPILY SELL TO BUYERS WORLDWIDE AND CAN ASSIST WITH SHIPPING ANYWHERE.
