Vehicle Description
The 1979 Jeep CJ7 Renegade has been given all the right investment
to deliver a strong-running and sharp-looking 4x4. That means extra
power from the V8, a terrific interior, and a very cool upgraded
paint package. It makes for a classic CJ that delivers style,
freshness, and function.
The paint that's capturing your attention is Viper Blue. It
obviously wasn't part of the original CJ7 offerings, but it does
have some history to it.
After all, Dodge and Jeep are now part of the same family, and as
you look at the details, you'll see this Jeep is quite powerful.
This CJ even has side exhaust pipes like the Viper! But what you'll
really like about the paint is it's a modern upgrade with a deep
luster and nice metallic element embedded in it for added
brilliance. We are told it was done about three years ago, and the
smooth shine tells us this CJ hasn't seen any rough stuff since its
restoration. The deep shade of blue is also a canvas to show off
the silver and white renegade graphics decal package. And there's
even more silvery shine from the bumpers, mirrors, upgraded alloys,
and iconic grille. As attractive as this all is, the fender flares,
lifted stance, and beefy tires remind you this pretty CJ is also a
true off-road-ready 4x4.
Proper doors and a well-fitting newer soft top are both attractive
and functional. But Jeeps are meant to be open to the world. That's
why the investments inside were also about keeping it stylish and
practical. The blue returns on the dash, but now black is the main
color. Everything from the seats to the rugged liner paint on the
floor looks fresh. The classic three-spoke steering wheel feels
grippy in your hands, and the three-speed manual transmission has a
crisp action. And the added crisp gauges - including Renegade-level
tach - are useful no matter where you take this Jeep.
Under the hood is a proper Jeep V8. The 304 cubic-inch motor has a
hardy reputation as a torque master, and that's exactly what you
want on a 4x4 like this. And its clean presentation reminds you of
the all-around investment in this CJ. They have also upgraded the
right piece for power, like a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an
Edelbrock intake, an MSD billet distributor, and long tube headers
feeding the side pipes. The V8 is a strong runner, and the
three-speed manual transmission has the right investment to give
you stout control. We're told it has been recently rebuilt,
including new internals, clutch, and flywheel. The 4x4 transfer
case and driveshafts were also part of the rebuild. There are
additional robust upgrades, like the Rough Country four-inch, Rough
Country steering stabilizer, Dana 30 front axle, AMC 20 rear, and a
wide set of Thunderer Trac Grip tires. Plus you have a good feeling
for all-around control thanks to power steering and an updated
power brakes system that includes front discs.
This CJ7 has an enhanced premium style and an enhanced 4x4 prowess.
It's the classic V8 Jeep that earns extra attention. So if you're
looking for the best, you know you can't let this one get away.
