Reintroduced in 1986 as the "924 S", Porsche’s original transaxle sports car was significantly revamped with an improved engine, braking system, and suspension borrowed from the 944 model. The 924S still has the characteristically sharp handling of the base 924, but is particularly appealing in that it has adequate power from its 944 engine. The 1987 examples came standardly optioned with a 5-speed manual transmission, air conditioning, power windows, and power steering.
This particular 924S comes finished in the Zermatt Metallic color, which has a platinum-like appeal. The condition of the exterior is average, and we encourage any interested parties to call or email to obtain a detailed description.
The Light Grey Leatherette interior is in top shape! The front seats have been recently reupholstered. The Porsche script cloth inlays are spotless and tear free, including the rear seats. The dash area is very clean, with all the gauges having a nice polished look. The carpeting throughout is clean as well.
The performance of this car is spot on, and without any doubt, this is the best performing 924 we have had in our lineup! The 2.5L inline-four motor cranks right up and has plenty of power. The clutch feels nice and soft, and the 5-speed manual transaxle smoothly shifts into each gear. The recent service consisted of a new clutch master & slave cylinder, New front rotors & pads, and New starter.
