Following the beautiful F355, the new Pininfarina-designed F360
Modena Coupe & Spider debuted in 1999. It featured an all-aluminum
space frame providing a 28% lighter chassis that was also 40%
stiffer. It allowed for designers to provide a 10% larger overall
body to enhance interior space and suspension performance. The
convertible Spider would be introduced in 2001. Powering this
rear-engine powerhouse was a new 3.6L V8 with flat plane crank and
titanium connecting rods pushing the redline to 8,700rpm! It
provided 395 bhp and 275 lb. ft. of torque launching this Italian
beauty to 60 mph in only 4.6 seconds, and 100mph in a tick over 11
seconds, and a top speed of 175mph!
Offered here is a wonderfully cared for 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider
finished in Rosso Corsa (Racing Red) over gorgeous Nero Leather
(Black) with Red accent stitching! Features include red brake
calipers, Xenon headlamps, Scuderia fender shields, rear challenge
grill, power windows, dual 8-way seats with lumbar & bolster
adjustment, air conditioning, power mirrors, 18" 5-spoke alloy
wheels, upgraded stainless steel X-OST Maranello mufflers and
polished tips, Hi-Fi sound system with 6-disc CD changer, and
factory storage charger!
Built in February 2001, this exceptional example found its way to
its first owner in the Seattle, WA area before trickling down to
the second owner Santa Ana, CA in approximately 2006. It was always
serviced by Ferrari authorized centers in southern California with
its first 5K major service completed at 4,399 miles in September
2007 at Ferrari of Newport Beach. It would later sell to a new
owner in Franklin, WI in March 2009 with approximately 6,500 miles
on the odometer. It would receive annual exercise during the short
summer months for the next 5 years, then be acquired by Cauley
Ferrari of West Bloomfield, MI December 2014 as a trade-in.
It was immediately treated to a full inspection service that
incorporated its second timing belt service at 12,960 miles. Cauley
Ferrari would replace the cam belts, bearings and tensioners, all
ancillary drive belts; change engine oil & filter, perform a brake
fluid flush with new reservoir, replace clutch fluid, transaxle
gear oil, engine & cabin air filters, new battery, antifreeze, and
cover the front end with paint protectant film for the hood, lower
fenders, and bumper cover. We would like to note that this Ferrari
360 is outside of the engine unit range for the problematic cam
timing variator & tensioner issue, so it was not part of the early
F131 engine recall. The car would be leased to its next owner for
the next 5 years and stay faithfully serviced and maintained by
Cauley Ferrari throughout the lease term. All records will be
provided to the new owner.
Upon the end of the lease agreement with 14,329 miles, Cauley
Ferrari would once again perform a full CPO warranty
style/101-point inspection in August 2019 and renew a cam belt
service. As before, new timing belts, tensioners, bearings, and
pulley were installed; fresh gear oil, brake flush, coolant flush,
engine oil/filter; new engine & cabin filters, spark plugs, drive
belts, AGM battery, and wiper blades all replaced. They also had
all sticky touch surfaces corrected and reinstalled. It would sell
that next Spring to a commercial pilot from the Dallas, TX area in
March 2020 with 14,344 miles on the odometer. New Michelin Pilot
Sport 4S tires were immediately installed at 14,388 miles that same
month. During his ownership, maintenance was carried out by H&S
Motorsports of Houston, TX with the installation of a new a/c
compressor, MAF sensors, fuel pumps, engine/transmission mounts,
and fluid changes for the engine, braking system, and power
steering. Having been driven sparingly over his 19 months of care,
only 1,720 miles to be exact, it would pass on to an owner in
Naples, Florida who enjoyed it for another 131 miles before a
forced sale due to divorce. This gorgeous Ferrari 360 Spider is
absolutely ready for the next owner!
As a meticulously kept car since new, we are confident this
beautiful example will easily fulfill the next owner's
expectations. With just 2,389 Ferrari 360 Spiders produced for the
US-market through 2005, only 670 units would possess a traditional,
gate-shifted 6-speed manual transmission! They are very rare and
will continue to appeal to the 3-pedal enthusiast market for many
years to come! Complete with two keys/fobs, all original tool kit,
tire inflation kit, complete owner's manuals, all service records
back to 2014, clean accident-free CarFax report, and Ferrari
embossed soft storage car cover, it should put this Spider at the
top of the list as investment grade! We invite interested parties
to call with questions or schedule a chance to review in
person!
