This "Mr. Norm's" 1968 Dodge HEMI Dart GSS was restored in 2007
when Norm Kraus of Grand Spaulding Dodge in Chicago, partnered with
Blue Moon Motorsports to produce 40 street version HEMI Darts to
celebrate the original 1968 HEMI Dart that was a Super Stock racing
legend. Each of the 40 produced was ordered to the customer's
specifications. Blue Moon performed full rotisserie restorations on
the 1968 rust-free donor car bodies that were dismantled,
media-blasted and stripped down to bare metal with rust-inhibiting
solution. They were hammered straight and used no body filler.
Authentic black HEMI Dart fiberglass hoods with scoops were added
with stainless-steel hood pins. This car has the original Dart
steel fenders, trunk and modified wheel tubs, all of which were
reassembled by hand. Features a Mr. Norm GSS Signature Billet
Tri-Power disc brakes with parking brake, slotted 13-inch rotors
and stainless-steel brake lines, as well as a custom crafted and
fully proportioned offset master cylinder with a custom pedal
assembly. Rides on 17-inch Cragar SS 5-spoke wheels with 9.5-inch
rear and 7-inch front with Pirelli P Zero tires. Interior includes
original Dart bucket seats with bolstered custom leather surfaces
and embroidered GSS logos with 5-point seat restraints and a
matching rear bench seat. Official Hurst competition manual
shifter. Fully restored dash and instrument cluster with GSS
white-face gauges and vintage-style AutoMeter tachometer with
column mount. Auxiliary water temperature, oil pressure and
voltmeter gauge cluster are all located in the radio delete plate.
Features GSS badge and authentication plate with Mr. Norm's
signature, and also has high-quality carpet. Features new
upholstered door panels, dash pad, package tray and headliner. This
car has a fully insulated and sound-deadened interior cabin. With
official Mr. Norm's GSS split tail stripe with official Rumble Ram
logo, official chromed Mr. Norm's GSS badges, official
Hurst-equipped badges and high-intensity headlamps. Original Dart
bumpers are refinished and triple-chromed. The original brightwork
was refinished and triple-chromed, including light bezels, door
handles and door locks. All new glass with original tint and
authentic trunk mat. Powered by a 426/572 Mr. Norm's GSS S/S Ultra
Street aluminum Block HEMI engine with upwards of 830hp, this
vehicle features a HEMI 833 4-speed overdrive manual transmission
with a Hays competition clutch, pressure plate and flywheel.
Includes high-performance stainless steel oil cooler, Control Freak
independent front suspension system with coilover shocks and GSS
Control Freak tubular control arms with torsion bars. The chassis
is reinforced with DOM tubular subframe connectors. Features GSS
custom ceramic-coated headers, 2.25-inch primaries with 4-inch
collectors and the EX3 Exhaust package with electrically actuated
dumpers.
