Vehicle Description
This 1971 International Harvester Scout 800B has been refurbished
and modified. Work included refinishing the body in orange and
rebuilding the 304ci V8 engine. A replacement 3-speed automatic
transmission is mated to a Dana 20 dual-range transfer case and
Dana 44 front and rear axles. The 304ci V8 engine was overhauled
and has a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection, an Isky
Performance 256-degree camshaft, a Pertronix Flame-Thrower ignition
coil, a CRT Performance HEI distributor, tubular headers, a
Champion Cooling aluminum radiator with dual 12-inch electric fans,
an aluminum coolant overflow tank and radiator shroud, a GM-based
alternator, a Painless Performance fuse box, a Jeep CJ-based
15-gallon fuel tank and a 9-gallon polyethylene auxiliary fuel
tank. Additional work included stripping and refinishing the engine
compartment using a black POR-15 coating. Features include a
removable white hardtop, a gray Affordable Offroad front bumper,
Hella H4 headlights, chrome side mirrors, a 2-speed electric
windshield wiper motor, heavy-duty door hinges, LED taillights and
a gray-finished rear bumper. Black-finished 15-inch alloy wheels
are mounted with 33x10.50 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires.
WARN manually locking hubs are equipped up front. The brakes have
been overhauled and modified with power-assisted Scout II-based
front discs, which are complemented by rear drums and a
proportioning valve. Upgrades to the suspension and steering
include Bilstein shocks, a 2-inch lift kit, a Rancho steering
damper, a Scout II power-steering box and a Borgeson steering joint
kit. The interior features Corbeau Baja front bucket seats and a
rear bench seat trimmed in black with gray inserts. Additional
features include a D and C Extreme 4-point roll bar, 3-point seat
belts, center storage with cup holders, a wood-plank bed floor, a
Lokar shifter, electric windows, a fuel tank selector lever, a
heater, an LED map light, USB charging ports, a RetroSound Hermosa
head unit and two 5.25-inch Audison Prima speakers. A
wood-grain-rimmed steering wheel frames International
Harvester-branded Speedhut instrumentation that includes a
GPS-enabled speedometer with an inset tachometer and auxiliary
gauges. A Holley handheld display is positioned to the left of the
gauges. This Scout is offered with an installed WARN winch, a copy
of the Line Setting Ticket and a clean North Carolina title in the
