Sticker The Porsche 911 is a sports car that has been in production
since 1963. This two-door, rear-engine vehicle has been sold for
public use while also being modified by private teams for racing
and competition. It is also one of the oldest sports car coupes
with over one million produced as of 2017. Originally designed to
be a more powerful variant of the Porsche 356 in 1963, the 911
started by using a rear-mounted flat-6 engine that gave the car 130
horsepower. There were four seats in the vehicle but the back two
are so small that the car is referred to as a 2+2 rather than a
four-seater. This 1977 Porsche 911S Targa featured here is an
outstanding example of the factory's continuing efforts in the
1970's to produce world class sports and racing cars and its
previous ownership is well documented with current ownership since
2012. It was sold new at Giganti Porsche in Indianapolis and
includes the original window sticker. This 911 features the
removable Targa top and was repainted Grand Prix White by the
previous owner. An older repaint, there are some swirl marks and
minor chips and blemishes throughout the finish, but it presents
very well with a nice luster. The body of this 911 is one of the
many high points of the car. The body panels are dent and rust free
and it doesn't appear to have ever had any sort of body or accident
damage. The glass and seals are in good condition. The windshield
is original and in very nice condition. The body trim, including
the stainless steel and rubber, is in good condition with some
light weather checking. The cabin of this 911 presents well, in
original and unrestored partial red leather seating areas and
original carpeting. The leather buckets show some age-related
wrinkles, but the upholstery remains soft and supple. The carpet
and floor mats have been well maintained with some light color
fading, and the interior panels are clean and free of any rips or
cracks with some light color fading. The door panels are also in
the good condition with some light water stains. Options include
power windows, and the factory radio has been replaced with a
Pioneer Super Tuner AM/FM/CD player. The factory full
instrumentation is viewed through the leather wrapped three spoke
steering wheel which evokes a track inspired arrangement. The front
trunk is in very nice condition, the trunk felt liner is in very
good condition with no rips, tears, or missing pieces, and the
spare tire is accounted for and in very nice condition. The factory
tool kit is also present. The underside of the car is clean and in
good order. It does not appear to have been in any type of harsh
weather climates and presents as very solid and well preserved
showing no evidence of any accident damage. The powerplant in this
Porsche is the original 2.7 H6 6-cylinder engine. The motor was
rebuilt in 2017 by Euro Autowerks. The engine compartment has not
been restored and presents as original and unmodified with factory
stickers. The motor has been well maintained including belts and a
fresh tune-up including distributor cap and wires. The exhaust has
been recently replaced and also in good order. Power is transferred
to a five-speed transaxle. The wheels are original Fuchs wheels
with correct center caps and painted white to match the body color.
The tires are in very nice condition and are the correct and
original size replacement for the Fuchs wheels. Porsche prices have
risen steadily over the last decade but have recently leveled out
making this a good time to pick up a solid example of the iconic
Porsche 911. This car comes with full documentation and service
