Vehicle Description
This 1971 Chevrolet El Camino has not only been upgraded to Super
Sport tribute, but there's also investment in the paint, interior,
and powerful small block. It makes for a sharp-looking classic with
a solid cruiser feel.
You could get an El Camino in red from the factory, but it never
looked like this. The upgraded paint has a touch of dark
sophistication, and at the same time, there's added radiance from a
candy-coated shine. So it makes quite a striking first impression.
Adding to the attractive style is plenty of well-done brightwork on
the trim, Rally wheels, and mirror-like bumpers to complement the
paint. Even the headlights are upgraded to add to this sparkling
package! But this is more than just radiance. The blackout grille
puts an aggressive face forward. There is more Super Sport style
attitude with upgrades like the cowl hood, SS badges, polished dual
exhaust tips, and hood pins. And even with all this style, there's
still the practical side of a real truck bed protected with liner
paint.
The black interior looks good against the deep red. The dash,
carpeting, and door panels have an inviting style. And we like how
the bench seat is upgraded with comfy velour-like inserts. There is
room for improvement in the electronics, and this even appears to
be a factory A/C Chevy (it would need most of the components
sourced to return the function.) But what you'll really appreciate
are the driver-oriented upgrades like the grippy sports steering
wheel and auxiliary gauge trio that remind you this is a classic
that's made to be driven.
The engine bay has a fresher 350 cubic inch V8 crate motor. It's a
tidy setup, and so you can spot plenty of supporting components,
including an MSD distributor, MSD plug wires, new pulleys, a newer
brake booster, an electric fan, and a nice set of polished
Chevrolet valve covers. This V8 is also built for added power with
an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, and
headers feeding into an H-pipe dual exhaust and Flowmaster
mufflers. And because you want a classic like this to be a nice
cruiser, you have easy driving features, like the three-speed
automatic transmission, power steering (with a new pump), and power
brakes with front discs.
This is the sharp-looking and sharp driving extra power El Camino.
