For Sale: 2003 GMC Sierra in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

2003 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali

The Denali nameplate started as the top-of-the-line version of the GMC Yukon for the 1999 model year. It was also GM's first attempt to go after sales from the new-for-1998 Lincoln Navigator. At the time of its introduction General Motors decided to give Cadillac its own luxury SUV so the Denali's exterior was shared with the 1999 Cadillac Escalade, with only the front fascia and lower side body panels differing from the standard Yukon. Even though the Yukon was redesigned alongside the Chevrolet Suburban and Chevrolet Tahoe in 2000, the Denali, Escalade, and Tahoe Limited/Z71 retained their 1990s base design. The "Denali" brand was derived from the native Alaskan Athabaskans / Koyukon people's name for the tallest mountain in North America. It is also the name of the Denali National Park and Preserve that surrounds the mountain, as well as Denali State Park.

Our truck for consignment is right out of the heyday of luxury pickups and SUV's. Loaded with features and options one would expect to find on high end European sedans this luxury extended cab hauler has it all. Big V8... check, 4 doors... check, leather interior... check, all wheel drive... check, Quadrasteer... check. Is it perfect, no, but it's been well maintained, still looks great with its timeless styling cues, and is a true part of the turn of the 21st century when everyone and their wife needed the biggest, best, and most loaded pickup truck. Even if it was only to haul the kiddos to soccer practice.

Exterior
Sporting an absolutely rust-free body and bathed in its original factory black paint which is presenting well for its age. This tall truck uses some black for the front bumper and just above is the signature honeycomb Denali grille in chrome. Moving across the hood and roof we note paint loss and hazing of the clearcoat which is common for a vehicle of this age and mileage. Being a crew cab, a smaller swinging door directly behind the main doors offers easy access for the crew. Tinted windows are all around, and chrome mirrors and door handles accent the field of black paint nicely. A tubular running board if you will, is below the rocker and aids with the climb in! The entire short bed is covered with a clean black liner and shows some light usage. On the back is another black bumper and a towing setup below. 17-inch matte black painted wheels are on the corners and are wrapped in like new all-weather tires. A tall 4x4 ready to haul...some ass.

Interior
Full on leather covers the front big comfy buckets and a full rear bench, all of these showing with varying degrees of wear and age with the driver's seat being the worst. Tearing is evident on this seat as are deep age cracks in the leather. There is plenty of black and gray accenting throughout, and as many conveniences with dual zone heat & A/C, a Jensen AM/FM/CD stereo, cruise control, power locks and windows, and power heated front seats. A silver painted dash insert houses all the necessary gauges and all are working perfectly. Some blue LED readouts are seen for the digital climate control and odometer. Above a nice tight headliner and overhead console are attached with slight soiling of the cloth and soiled gray carpeting and mats are on the floor. Lest I forget a large center storage and console armrest with cupholders is between the wide buckets.

Drivetrain
Under the clean hood is a clean engine bay. Shoehorned within this clean space is a 6.0-liter V8 fed with EFI. There is a 4L65E 4-speed automatic transmission on the back and 3.73 axles get you through anything you may encounter on the way to the middle school musical.

Undercarriage
This has been well kept with some road dirt and slight surface rust showing in various locations but certainly nothing remarkable. Front torsion bars and rear leaf springs provide the ride and power disc brakes are on all 4 corners. A newer exhaust system will last a good long time on this truck. We note a new starter has been installed recently.

Drive-Ability
A quick starter and off with plenty of power to spare to the test track. Nice acceleration, good power on the low end, and great easy steering and smooth handling. Braking is excellent, and the cruise is just as comfy. All working functionality with all the power accessories. The Quadrasteer makes parking in tight areas a breeze and the heated leather seating makes for a comfy commute.

Here we have a used pickup which looks good and runs great. A cared for and maintained, high optioned truck with a crew cab and short bed, time to go to work and haul the kids to practice!
