This 1981 Jeep CJ-7 is a nice clean Jeep that has had a lot of work
done to it to make a hop in and have fun Jeep. It was built in 2017
and used only in the Summers as a fun toy and a reliable driver.
This Jeep has a fibreglass body, and we usually only sell all steel
Jeeps, but because of the price point we thought it would a good
vehicle for 1/2 the price. The body is in great condition and it is
a full fibreglass tub, fenders, and hood. No need to worry about
rust on this CJ. It was painted black and the paint still looks
really nice. It did get a new BestTop Soft Top and Doors in 2017
that were rarely used so they are still excellent. The frame is
excellent and was replaced in 2017 with a new frame from Throttle
Down Customs. These frames are beefier and stronger than the
factory frames. It also was outfitted with new Pro-comp Bumpers
front and rear.
The interior is really nice on this Jeep. It is your typical no
frills and basic interior like these old CJ's had. It has some
really nice and very comfortable front buckets seats that have been
newly recovered and a newer BestTop rear seat. It has a factory
roll bar with added supports and the floor was line-xed. The
headlights, brake lights tail lights, and turn signals are all
working. The horn does not work and there is no heat (the heat
would be easy to add if you wanted it). This Jeep comes with rear
speaker corner boxes but they are not installed.
Mechanically this Jeep is top notch and it runs and drives great!!
The engine is an AMC 5.9L 360 V8 that runs strong with no issues or
red flags that we could find. The last owner had it rebuilt in 2017
and it has around 10,000 miles on it. It has an Edelbrock aluminum
intake, Edelbrock carb, full MSD ignition system, Headman Headers
with dual exhaust (sounds great!), aluminum radiator, GM 1 wire
alternator. The transmission is a Turbo 400 that shifts great!! It
is mated to the Dana 300 transfer case and the 4WD works like it
should. The rear axle is the AMC 20 with 3.73 gears and the front
axle is the Dana 30 with 3.73 gears. It had new driveshafts, front
and rear installed. The lift is a 4 Inch with new shocks. It also
has power steering and power front disc brakes. This is all sitting
on a nice set of wheels with newer 33 inch Dick Cepek Fun Country
Tires.
