1970 AMC Javelin SST
Car History
The AMC Javelin SST was an American front-engine, rear-wheel-drive,
two-door hardtop automobile manufactured and marketed by American
Motors Corporation.
We have a great updated and restored 1970 orange AMC Javelin SST
here for sale at Adventure Classics that was styled by Dick Teague
and a real pony car or muscle car that you should add to your
garage.
Engine & Drivetrain
The engine in our 1970 looks to be the original 304 cubic inch
engine with a new Holley 2 bbl carb with the correct paint shade of
turquoise on the engine block, heads, valve covers, and factory
intake, performance ignition and spark plug wire set, still retains
the factory black air cleaner assembly with the correct 304 engine
decal, air conditioning, factory cast iron exhaust manifolds, and
sits in a very clean, painted, and detailed engine compartment.
The 304 cubic inch V8 that has plenty of horsepower and torque and
is backed by an automatic transmission and it rolls on black
sidewall tires and aftermarket polished aluminum 5-spoke mag
wheels.
Interior
The interior of our Javelin has black high back bucket seats in
front with a center console with woodgrain trim housing the Shift
Command automatic shifter, matching rear seats, factory American
Motors radio unit, black floor mats and carpet, factory wood grain
dash with full black faced factory instrument gauges and controls,
black carpet and door panels, and the rear seats that are
comfortable and sporty in design and provided more legroom for rear
seat passengers than the previous years.
Exterior
Our Javelin SST is repainted in a bright orange paint scheme that
really attracts a lot of attention. The paint is super and flows
well over the sculpted fender bulges, hood scoop, and rear spoiler,
and is accented by the front and rear chrome bumpers, SST emblems,
and trim.
