Vehicle Description
This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS custom coupe was modified and fully
restored by renowned Austin City Hot Rods in Austin, TX. It
received a complete frame-off restoration with no expense spared
and has 2,896 miles since completion. Finished in 1968 Corvette
White with Mercedes-Benz Iridium Silver stripes. Powered by a
Smeding Performance 383ci V8 engine equipped with FiTech EFI making
460hp and 484 ft/lbs of torque. The engine breathes through a set
of headers feeding a custom-built exhaust. The engine is mated to a
TREMEC Magnum 6-speed manual transmission connected to a John's
Industries rear end with 3.73 gears. The suspension consists of a
full Detroit Speed front subframe and its front suspension with
adjustable coilovers and power rack & pinion steering. Out back are
Detroit Speed mini-tubs and adjustable leaf springs giving it that
perfect ride height. Stopping power is handled by a power assisted
Wilwood master cylinder with Wilwood Superlite 6R big brakes on all
four wheels using drilled and slotted rotors. Custom metal work
includes hidden fender joints, tucked and shaved rear bumper with
integrated reverse lights and a custom front valence. This Camaro
rides on custom 18-inch MHT color-matched wheels wrapped in
Michelin Pilot Sport tires, 245/35s up front and meaty 315/30s
putting the power to the ground in the rear. Inside, you will find
a full custom-made TMI Deluxe interior with custom-built console,
Classic Instruments Velocity gauges, Vintage Air system, Ididit
tilt column, walnut wood-grain steering wheel, power windows and
door locks, lowered front seats with 3-point seat belts and a
retro-looking Bluetooth stereo system with amplifier and Kicker
speakers all around. A key fob that operates the doors. Exterior
trim parts such as door handles and mirrors have been
powder-coated. The electric powered hide-away headlight grille
reveals Halo LED headlights. Other upgrades include a large
aluminum radiator with electric fan, Detroit Speed stainless gas
tank, SBC hi-torque mini starter, Powermaster 170A alternator and
trunk-mounted Optima battery. The tidy engine compartment has a
clean firewall with air conditioning hoses hidden under the inner
fenders and a windshield wiper motor behind the firewall. Dyno test
and restoration and build receipts are included with the sale.
