This 1970 Chevrolet Nova has a dark style to give it the right look
of intimidation. But as you look at the full package, you can also
see that this one just likes being a solid V8 classic cruiser from
day one.
This generation Nova always looks good in black. After all, it has
a timeless sense of style on one of the most memorable classics
from the 1970s. The finish makes for an easy driver, and it still
retains a good gloss to show off the well-creased body lines. There
are some sporty upgrades, like the SS-style vent trim hood. Plus,
the American Racing Torq Thrust wheels have a 17/18-inch front/rear
stagger for a good-looking stance. But overall, what this Nova does
well is have the right look of a clean and complete classic. The
wraparound chrome bumpers, full-width grille, full-length trim,
good weather-stripping, complete badging, and good body panels,
give the right impression of a quality vintage Chevy. So what we
like about this car is that it gives you a nice classic style, and
this is also a nice base if you want to step up to a Super Sport
level of style and power upgrades.
The full black interior has the nice look of a driver's car, and
you even have the upgraded Chevy three-spoke sports steering wheel.
And just like the exterior, while the dark style is fun, there's
also an attraction here because of the good fundamentals. The
upholstery, carpeting, door panels, headliner, and dash have a soft
feel of quality. And the details are good everywhere from the clear
gauges to the working dome light.
Under the hood is solid small block power. The 350 cubic-inch V8
has a little extra flair from the Edelbrock polished valve covers,
polished air grabber, and orange block paint. There are also newer
supporting components like the alternator and aluminum radiator. It
makes for a solid-running package today, and you just know these
motors have plenty of readily available upgrades that can unlock
some serious power in one weekend. This even already has full
headers and a newer dual exhaust. And features like the three-speed
automatic transmission and modern sport tires are there to make
this a nicer all-around driver.
This Nova has a cool sense of style, nice fundamentals, and a ton
of potential for the custom car you've always wanted. Call
