Vehicle Description
1976 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray L-48 Coupe. Original 28,000 miles!
I am the second owner. I have had it for 5 years. This baby runs
and drives great! Straight and strong. Last oil change was done
locally in 2012 (about 300 miles ago). I have only driven it 206
miles myself. This is a numbers matching 350ci V-8 w/4 barrel
Quadrajet, 3 speed automatic, T-Tops, power steering, new power
brakes, power windows, tilt wheel. All gauges work, even the clock.
Everything works. Every light bulb, every switch, every handle,
turn signals, hazards, every button is there. Headlights pop up and
down perfectly. Minimal wear on pedals. You name it, it works (for
being 46 years old that is phenomenal) EXCEPT the factory air does
NOT blow cold, but all of the vent controls and 3 speed fan work as
they should. I have left all components under the hood untouched. I
did this intentionally to keep it original and show authenticity. I
will let the next owner do what they want with it. I was just an
interim steward for the car. Under the hood looks and performs just
as a stock classic Vette would in 1976. Nothing fancy, but
everything is there. It is only missing the chrome distributor
cover plate which was that way when I got it. The only other major
alteration that was done to the car was when it was painted some
time ago to a silver blue metallic color. That's when the rear
spoiler was added at that time to a 1979 tail in solid fiberglass
and molded to the body. It was good job on the body work, so I left
that alone, but I changed the paint color back to Silver Metallic
like original. The wheels were changed before me to alloy it mags.
These are good wheels and the tires are too. I tried to keep as
much as I could that came with the car. I only spent some time
dealing the interior since that was deteriorating for the most
part. I have repaired and revived most of the interior. I installed
all new carpet throughout the cockpit, cargo area, wheel wells,
compartment doors.
